I recently discovered an article indicating that it is possible to use VCDS to indicate amount of Timing Chain stretch using Measuring Blocks 208 and 209.
Please can you advise on which Advanced Measuring Values I should select to perform the same test, and expected results, on my 2013 1.2 (CGPB) Polo 6R?

Well, this car has no classic measuring blocks, but rather adv. measurements. I am not perfectly sure, if the timing stretch can be read there, but since VCDS includes a good search function you can just look at these.

Thanks for the advice but after running a block scan which produced a listed approximately 940 Codes and Descriptions of Advance Measuring Values in Excel. Unfortunately I could not identify any similar description to those mentioned in Measuring Blocks 208 or 209.
Don't think Forum Administrator would like me copying 940 lines of text and I don't know how to attach documents :rolleyes:

Hello,

Some UDS Engine controllers will have the following Advanced Measuring Values:
- Chain_elongation_MAX_drive_chain_1
- Chain_elongation_MAX_drive_chain_2

Some may have a [Basic Setting] for [Test for chain elongation]

However it does not look like this engine controller supports these values.

Apologies for being unable to align myself with modern technology but once passed a certain point, everything gets more complicated; why is there no option for attaching documents? :confused:
