A relative of mine has a Euro mk7 Golf GTE plugin Hybrid. He feels that his EV range has decreased noticeably since the car was new.

I did connect to it with VCDS and quickly browsed through Meas Values, but did not find any apparent values at that time. Does anyone here know where to find health and usage data on high voltage batteries?

Afterwards I did some google searching, and read that there should be values called:
Param_SOHP
Param_SOHQ
(and a value in nn%).

I also found this:
Function call-up: sys x 1 0413 11 Start Stopp Kapitel 6 MQB 00011

Test step: Supply

Test step: Vehicle selection

Test step: Battery monitoring measured values

/Param_MatchRecorDataIdent 12 05
/Param_RecorDataIdent EM_prcSoh
/Param_DataRecor/Param_SOHP 89.0%
Is this some kind of VAS/ODIS procedure?
Can this be done in VCDS?

It would be interesting to know procedures to do this on all VAG EVs and plugin-hybrids:
Golf GTE, Passat GTE, e-Golf, Audi A3 e-tron, Audi Q7 e-tron.

I may also obtain access to the new Audi e-tron EV SUV soon, it would be interesting to look into the real battery specs there as well (in addition to a controller map/full scan perhaps?).

Andy drives a 2018 A3 e-tron. We've got complete maps from it. I'm not seeing anything that correlates directly with what you've got there, nor anything that's obviously related to battery health. However, there's a boatload of "History Data" available. Since he's had the car a bit more that year now and has driven it primarily on electric power, I suppose it would make sense to pull a fresh set of maps. He has observed that temperature has a strong influence on electric-only range and efficiency (miles per kWh).

A scan and maps from the new Audi e-tron pure EV would be greatly appreciated.

You can use search in measurement data and search for: SOH
in [19-CAN Gateway].

Hmm.. I was looking for it in the battery itself (address 8C). But yes, the Gateway has:

ENG106155-ENG118436 -- EM_prcSoh - SOH_P
ENG106155-ENG118435 -- EM_prcSoh - SOH_Q

I just ran out and checked my 2018 A3 e-tron which has 15969km or 9922miles on the odometer:

ENG106155-ENG118436 EM_prcSoh-SOH_P 96 %
ENG106155-ENG118435 EM_prcSoh-SOH_Q 95 %

Interestingly, I ran maps in July 2018 (when the car had 7054km / 4383mi) and it showed:

ENG106155-ENG118436,EM_prcSoh-SOH_P,100, %
ENG106155-ENG118435,EM_prcSoh-SOH_Q,100, %

Thanks,

I will look for SOH values in the Gateway.

What is the optimal procedure for doing that?

I saw this thread:
https://forums.ross-tech.com/showth...-(e-g-all-adaptions)-and-not-just-long-coding
And this page:
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Control_Module_Maps

Is this the best way? - Do an Auto-Scan with Debug Level set to 2 in the options?

Does it create both pre label files and (human readable) CSV files for all modules?
I want to study/review data after I no longer have access to the car as well.

On a car that's all UDS, and I'm quite confident this one will be all UDS, pre-label files are not terribly useful, so it should all be CSVs.

I retrieved data from a neighbours e-golf (2015, 68k km), found this in the gateway:
ENG106155-ENG118436 EM_prcSoh-SOH_P 91 %
ENG106155-ENG118435 EM_prcSoh-SOH_Q 89 %

EDIT: I also found this:
IDE09074-MAS08256,Vehicle properties-Max energy content,18850, Wh

Data from a Golf GTE (2015 53k km) from 19-Gateway:

ENG106155-ENG118436,EM_prcSoh-SOH_P,85, %
ENG106155-ENG118435,EM_prcSoh-SOH_Q,85, %

IDE09074-MAS08256,Vehicle properties-Max energy content,5800, Wh
IDE09080-MAS08265,Energy storage unit-Energy content of HV battery: RWB-internal deduction,4825, Wh (Remaining/state of charge perhaps?)

What does 'Max energy content' look like on yours @Andy?
(now and earlier reading if you have the data).

Strange, perhaps they are coded or obfuscated in some way on newer cars..?

I agree that is strange. Somehow I don't think he has a 1.6 or 1.7 MWh battery. ;)

sorry for reviving an old post, but I have some related questions, it'd be great if anyone could answer these

1. how can we know this is for the HV battery not for the 12v battery?

2. What P and Q stands for in SOH_P and SOH_Q?

okay, to answer my own question #2,

SOHp is the ability to produce power relative to the nominal value of the battery.

SOHq is the present max capacity relative to the nominal value.

But I still don't know if this is for the HV battery or the 12v battery... the fact this measuring value is burried in 19 CAN Gateway raises a question mark to me.

I connected my Hex-Net (using a laptop) to an e-tron EV (MY 2020) today. Tried to do an Auto-Scan with debug level 2 activated, but the application just crashed when starting (v 19.6.2).

I then went to applications and controller map, and I have adpmap and blockmap for many of the modules, but it also crashed when it tried to scan the 'CE-Drive Motor 2' module.

I can send you what I have if you are interested. Where can I retrieve logs related to the application crash?

In my 2015 1.4 TSI MQB car the CAN gateway also shows these exact parameters:
ENG106155-ENG118436 EM_prcSoh-SOH_P
ENG106155-ENG118435 EM_prcSoh-SOH_Q
They have to be for the 12V battery.
I don't think VW re-used those exact parameters for the HV battery in EV/hybrid vehicles.

The SOH_Q parameter and specific the letter Q could be related to electric charge (coulomb) -> this can be expressed in Ah, ampere hours.
