Hi All.
This is my first post.
The Jetta was driven to my driveway the week that was very cold.
When I tried to start it after 3 days I heard a click with blinking lights.
I recharge the battery and I tried again my surprised never started again no clicks.
I measured the leakage to 2.5 TO 3.5 A all the time and they are from 3 fuses Sb 47,48 40A and Sb 2 30A in the engine fuse box, without the fuses I get 30 miliamps perfect.
I bought the Bentley service manual for the year of the car.
I carefully found a mistake this people have, they say the red/blk wire from the fuse box in the engine has a +12 v on it from the engine harness.
I took apart all the connectors and I found this wire is alone and it does not have any voltage.
I also took the tapes out of the J519 big harness I had no broken wires special the red/blk small wire.
I gave them my report but I received no answer.
Now I have a free program VCDS-Lite and a cable from eBay I tried to communicate but the computer failed to connect.
The car has some intelligence all the doors work and when you open any you see the display of the car corresponding.
I also do not have any issue with the key service it works.
If any one has been having this issue I will appreciate the help.
I need the true vw schematic to see how the car functions.
For the people who want to install a new radio in this car I have good news it can be done now I have 2017 radio and I can use my phone it works very well.
Thank you all until the next time

If you have a Bentley manual, then you have a "true vw schematic". Until 2009, Bentley publishers was the official supplier for repair information in the USA.

Thank you.
Uwe you are famous.
I am a retired engineer and if you have their manual you will see they do not know how this car works for the year 2005 2.5L engine code BGQ.
Page No. 37/4 you will see J271 controller there is a relay the coil has a connection 89 that goes to the drivers door according to the diagram indication as a ground, there is not such a point I opened the door panel, this is the first mistake it goes to the J519 controller.
The second mistake is point (60) red/blk wire that goes to D78 and has 12v all the times inside the engine harness there is not anything like this both point 60 and 89 go straight to the j519 controller I have removed all the tapes to see if they were broken.
How I know this I reaped everything apart and I trace them there neither one has any voltage.
My fuelpump is not working but with a jumper on J17 contacts it runs good.
Now you see their full of ignorance and they do not help if you politely ask them for help.
Page 37/7 J17 fuel relay the coil goes to points 243 and 98 there is not such a thing in the manual I asked them for help no answer.
Now you know I am on my own.
If someone had the German prints I would find also how the J519 is wired. their method is for the birds no information.
Many thanks I like your answer we will find a solution sooner or later for people to learn.

OK, if the Bentley manual has inaccuracies, then I can only recommend erWin, which should let you obtain the correct diagrams by VIN. Please see:

Where do I get a Wiring Diagram?

I thank you for this information.
I will try later.
I also will send some pictures with a plug under the fuse box by the engine.
I also will like to start with Jetta's controller and the software that i have for this.
Best regards.

This site doesn't allow upload of pictures.

You must upload them to a hosting service such as imgur and then paste a link to them using the picture from URL icon you have found.

I am a new user Specific Jetta 2005 2.5 L that died from battery leakage.

Uwe.
I wish to had your information one week ago.
Today I follow your information and downloaded the German manuals.
I only spend $35.00 for whatever I need for one day.
My local dealer had the manual that is garbage for $50.00 and additional taxes.
Big deference now I will proceed understanding the Jetta.
I hope all the people got this message Uwe saved the day.

Please show screenshots of these discrepancies between repair manuals ..........

I think you are looking at a incorrect WD for production after July 2006> that is why?

There is a WD from NOV 2004> for BGQ and I think you want that one........

Thanks. I have now the official VW Jetta service manuals. I try to find the start up sequence and after many days I know what it is.
The car is not working I make the the J682 to come on by applying a ground to the proper relay coil terminal.
The starter is not working or I am missing a connection to the starter.
When I apply the key to start I hear nothing from the starter but now I have my fuel pump running.
I am open for suggestion the car is now like Heath kit project.
I like to get some connection to the ecu but I think is not functioning yet. Maybe I need some help here.
My PC had a big issue but now behaves good.
Regards to all. Peter11742

I forgot to mentioned that I installed a jetta radio 2017 in the old car.
It worked well for weeks until I disconnected the battery for a few days.
When I tried to hear my station I got a surprise components were locked and I had no voice on the speakers.
I found only the dealer can much my vin with the serial number of radio.
Any one had this kind of event on a simple radio from eBay.

Hi All.
I like to see if you can verify my Jetta's electrical connection 2005.5 BGQ.
We have three supplies Terminal 15 with J329. Terminal 30 with J317. Terminal 50 with J682.
The first 2 terminals work fine the 3 terminal I have issues.
J682 the one of the coil terminal has to be in the ground but I can not trace it. Also has to bring the power from the c bus 12 v. to B/50 starter.
First I made a sort on J682 heavy contacts thinking it will start the starter nothing happened.
Second I provided the ground on the coil and the relay works fine when the ground is good.
To day is raining hard so I can not work. My next project is to find where is the starter's solenoid red wire terminated, it is difficult to connect to it but I will try on Monday.
Best regards. Peter11742

Have you checked whether the 2017 radio is the cause of the 2A drain? If it's not interpreting the message on the infotainment CAN bus that tells it to turn off it COULD be staying on...

Thanks.
Yes I checked the radio is pooling only 2 ma.
The can bus on the radio works it took me a while to make it work.
It is a better radio and it has the Bluetooth that you can use any phone in the car.
So far the leaks is not my concern I want to start the car first I lost it and is hard to find the reason that is not working.
For the big 2A leak I will have a solution after the start up of the Jetta.
I am sure I will find something that will help many people that they have the same car.

A 2 Amp draw should be easy to find and isolate by watching battery voltage or pulling fuses to bifurcate zones and after the alarm module for all central locks are verified fully armed!

Thanks for the information.
First I did remove fuses and I found 3 fuses cause the leak SB3 SB47 SB48.
With a sensitive ampmeter I observe the 2 A are from the J519 controller because the wiring is opened.
Today I used for first time my laptop to see if I communicate with the controller.
First I used my charger to help the battery to stay longer and I got some reading.
I also heard some noise from the door back of me Probably the locking mechanism is bad.
These are my readings.

After this my charger lost the fuse and the car drained the battery in 2 minutes and died.
I must stop the Headlights with the key on, this is an engineering screw up it consumes 10 A with the key on. I wander people have issues with the Jetta's.
Any one have done it before let me know. I also will appreciate if you give me some feed back on the errors. I know about the airbag error.
Now I must find the starter big red cable The car is not starting. I also going to order J527 Stearing controller.

Rather than keep posting typed copies of parts of the Auto-Scan PLEASE post the Auto-Scan file unedited - you'll probably need to get your battery charger working again first!

It's replay hard to help you without seeing a proper Auto-Scan
