Opened 53 EPB and tried to save Advanced ID info - VIN shows as all dashes and save fails with "This VIN is not plausible" but the VIN field is grayed out so I cannot change it...

Richard

ETA: It *DOES* appear to save, just gives an error and requires Xing out.
ETA: Same results with 6C Backup Cam.

Can you post a screenshot of both the advanced ID screen and the error message please? An Auto-Scan would be helpful as well in order for us to find a suitable car to reproduce this on.

My suspicion is that you make the VIN field Read-Only (grayed out) when you read a VIN from the module, and you check the VIN at writing time to make sure it's plausible, but when the module returns an implausible VIN (e.g. "------------") you do both things and lock the user in a no-win situation :D I can't enter a plausible VIN because you got it from the module.

Screen shot will have to wait until later tonight (US Mountain), but here's the Autoscan data on the two modules: (Car is 2014 USA-model S6)

Richard, following up on this - did you ever get a chance to get those screenshots?

Darn, I completely forgot :(

I'll email them to you in just a moment rather than post a half-dozen images. Still an issue in 15.7.1.

Richard

Edit: YGM :)
