Hope someone can help.

Checked out a friends Audi A6 3l tdi. He has a dpf problem on the car.
Doing a scan showed there was a fault code on the engine regarding the differential pressure sensor.

Tried to do a forced regen on the dpf, thinking the sensor error might have been a once off with the fault frequency 1 and the sensor giving a reading at the time.
So the regen started and after a few seconds aborted because of safety measures or something.

The measured soot level went up from someting in the 20 to over 60 after the partial regen. It then adjusted the calculated soot level to kind of fit the measured one.

My thoughts are that the sensor is maybe giving the wrong values and thus now have a too high soot level registered to want to do a regen.

Plans are to first replace the sensor. 059 906 051 A
Do I need to reset the learned values somewhere or can I just replace the sensor? And will it then when having hopefully different and correct readings adjust the measured and calculated soot values in order to do a regen again?

Exhaust Gas Differential Pressure Sensor (G450) Adaptation
The Exhaust Gas Differential Pressure Sensor (G450) Adaptation is performed based on the EDC Protocol which is shown in the upper left corner of the Open Controller screen

CAN Protocol (G450) procedure
Instructions should be populated in a pop-up balloon when connected to the controller in question with VCDS.

Key ON, Engine OFF
[Coding-2] or [Login-II] button
Enter the code shown in the VCDS pop-up balloon
[Do It!]
Switch Ignition OFF for 30 seconds
After the key is cycled back on the adaptation should be completed. If it is not completed, proceed with the next steps:

These steps must be repeated 5 times.

Ignition ON
Wait 5 seconds
Ignition OFF
Wait 40 seconds
Repeat 4 more times
Note: If a code is NOT shown in the VCDS pop-up balloon registered customers can Join our Forum -or- send the complete Auto-Scan via email with the recent repair history including the part number of the original/removed sensor and the new replacement sensor.

UDS Protocol (G450) procedure
Key ON, Engine OFF
[Basic Settings]
Select Adaptation of diff. pressure sensor particulate filter
[Go!] to activate the Basic Setting.
After the result of Finished Correctly appears click [Stop]
Select Resetting of learned values of difference pressure sensor
[Go!] to activate the Basic Setting.
After the result of Finished Correctly appears click [Stop]
[Done, Go Back]

This ECU uses the UDS protocol, so you're going to need the last section.

Thanks for the advice.
Sensor is replaced and it solved the implausible signal fault. So just need to reset the learned values.
Say the dpf needs a regen, wil the resetting of the learned values then make the computer believe that the dpf is clean?
And if so how do you then get it cleaned out? Take the car for a hard drive up a steep mountain pass should help I guess?
