That's exactly what I want to do, I've tried setting byte 27, bit 2 tonight and I still get 'Open or Short to Plus' for both bulbs. I've found a willing helper with Van Can Pro so I may look at the locations suggested earlier in the thread.

After coding have you done factory reset for Lights through Maxi Dot?

I've tried that this morning for you and it doesn't seem to have made any difference yet. I've left the bit set for now as I know some settings need time to become effective.

Sorted with VAG CAN Pro as per instructions from enriquez (post 9)

just need to figure out how to get twin fogs working on facelift Octavia

If I understand correctly, you need VCP cable for this SW to work? With ross-tech cable it won't work?
