Rain Closing and DRL Dimming for my 2012 Sharan

I would like to configure my new Sharan, but I can't set to program Rain Closing. When I activate bit 5 and 6 in byte 4 of STG 9 and bit 2 in byte 0 on RLS, i see rain closing in my MFA but doesn't work.

Otherwise, I would like to configure DRLs dimming when turn signal. I configure bit 3 in byte 15 on STG 9, but when I test, my DRLs not dimming, they completely disabling. I test with an other country on my instrument configuration on STG 17 but doesn't work.

Could you help me please.

I have test with wiper stalk in intermittent position but doesn't work. In my ex Skoda Superb or my ex Seat Altea the rain closing work correctly and I doesn't need to set wiper stalk in intermittent position. I have exactly the same #9 BCM module as you in my 2012 Tiguan and your coding is the same as mine for the Rain closing function which works in mine with no problems IF the wiper stalk is left in the intermittent position AND the car is locked.
However your subsystem 2 " RLFS " Sensor is different to my RLS sensor and i think the problem lies in the coding of this new generation module. I think this particular module is now used in the golf 7 and you may need to code this like the Golf 7 owners have done to get the rain closing function to work.

I've had a love-hate relationship with the auto rain closing tweak for some time now. I think it is fair to say that this tweak has had a dubious history ever since the RLFS was introduced to VW cars. From my chats with other forum folk (not this forum) about this tweak, there seems to now be three sensors used; RLS, RLFS and RLHS.

Some time back, following a request from a fellow forum member (bloggo), the inestimable Dana modified the coding to the then current beta software (which was then Beta14.6.1) to specifically work on RLFS. As I understand, the beta software is still the only version SW that has the correct smarts to program the RLFS. So you must use the Beta SW for the rain closing tweak (currently Beta 14.8.1). Did you use this software?

I'm not familiar with your type of car, but on the Golf mk7 (MQB platform), apart from thechanges that need to be made to the slave module (i.e. the sensor), there is also a series of in-car procedures that must be performed. Also, from feedback that I got from those that had the North American Region cars, some indicated that the light switch had to be on the "Auto" position.

Anyhow, because of all the confusion that seemed to surround this tweak, I put together a (regrettably, rather long) set of instructions for auto rain closing. It's intended for MQB platform vehicles and the control module changes appear to be different to those posted by KeithUK (because my instructions are for a different car) but, my post does describe the in-car procedures that are required for the RLFS unit to work. It might be worth trying these on you car.

Have you made an adaptation control module map for your BCM yet? If so, can you paste-up a copy somewhere where we can have a look at it? T's likely to be quite a large list, so it's probably better that you load it on a file on a third party web site and then paste a link to it on this forum.

Hi DV52, thanks for your reply! I have read lots of your post about rain closing, but the code 31347 is not accepted by my system, I think it only works with Golf7, and there is no balloon for Sharan to show that magic code.

I have confirmed with several Sharan owners, we all really want to know this magic code to open the gate of Rain Closing!

Yeah, that SA code is MK7/MQB specific and this vehicle has a traditional (2010-2014) Mk6 PQ35 BCM installed.

You do not need a SA code at all with that PQ35 BCM. Rain closing may not be supported, and even when it is using my NAR market 2012 Tiguan SEL for example - I wouldn't fully trust that feature in a downpour. This tweak page applies: VW Golf/Golf Plus (5K/52) Tweaks

As pointed out already, this particular vehicle uses a RLFS so that may be part of the problem? This is a reference scan of my Tiggy but do NOT copy my NAR coding into a RoW car! You could end up with drama ranging from Byte 18 shenanigans to a no-start/no crank type of problem
