Well, ugh.

So, I've been getting the P2279, and then the P0507 code. First got it last week while sitting at a traffic light. Thought nothing of it, and cleared them. Got them again yesterday, while at a traffic light. Cleared, and got it again this morning while at a traffic light. Car runs smooth and no bobbles at idle. RPM gauge reflects 750 to 800 rpm

2 1/2 weeks ago I got my intake manifold, fuel pump, and radiator replaced, which is about 1100 miles ago.

Week and a half ago I got my first code for a misfire in C3. Pulled and looked at plug, looked good, and swapped it with C2. Nothing more about misfires, so I don't know if this helps regarding this current issue.

Boost gauge registers -20.0 while at idle. Playing with dipstick while engine is running results in engine wanted to stall. Got a can of dechlorinated brake cleaner and sprayed around the various hoses and connections, no change in how the engine ran.

Noticed the hose that runs from the N80 to the charcoal canister had the clap not in place where said hose connects to the N80.

I noticed at lunch today that the hose that runs from the PVC to my intake manifold has wiggle room where it meets with the PVC. This it????

Not sure what else I could check.

Admin note: Please don't use the PRINT function in VCDS to post scans here; the results are less than optimal, i.e. much harder to read than if you just copy & paste the original text.

-Uwe-

PS: The two faults you have are pretty clear-cut. There's an intake leak somewhere.

Does it mean anything that the P2279 code pop up before the P0507?

I don't think so. A leak in the intake can cause the idle rpm to increase, so I expect both codes have the same root source -- an intake leak somewhere.

Only time I have high idle, is when starting the car on a cold engine, and the SAI system has rpms around 1200, then drops to 750/800rpms when SAI turns off.

Other than that, no idle changes. Just weird

I think the "Higher than Expected" may not necessarily mean be in terms of absolute RPM. I could see the ECU setting this code if it has to close the throttle more than it thinks it should have to, even if doing so is able to maintain the RPM in the range it wants.

Wow that's a lot of parts.......

I wonder if you car is FOD tuned and or modified?

Please reset all the fault memories of all controllers with a broadcast and post a fresh auto-scan before even starting the cars engine.

Readiness: 0000 0001
Interesting how these readiness monitors all but CAT pended?

It would seem to me that a flash update failed to be provided out of the crack of VW's Ass here for TSB 24AX or something similar?

1K0-907-115AL, AD, AF & AK are the base extract hardware for this CBFA MED17.1 right?
"AL" the controller you have has some "special upgrade measures" in PR code GP1 in extension

I noticed at lunch today that the hose that runs from the PVC to my intake manifold has wiggle room where it meets with the PVC. This it????

Not sure what else I could check.
I would imagine you still have an air leak, please see this thread.
http://forums.ross-tech.com/showthr...gases-and-vacuum-amp-so-should-you!-Air-leaks!

Noticed the hose that runs from the N80 to the charcoal canister had the clap not in place where said hose connects to the N80.
You are going to want to check the EVAP N80 with a mighty vacuum tester for mechanically stuck open

JPPSG......
http://forums.ross-tech.com/showthr...essional-Problem-Solver-Guide-quot-JPPSG-quot

I would be curious if the later CBFA engine controllers, also being MED17.1 with the flash update for 24AX TSB would extinguish this issue?

Want to try an experimental ECU with a plug and play test unit and no VIN ID?
All you have to do is return unit in 10 days and pay freight both ways.

K04 Turbo/tune for the past 90k miles.

Crap, didn't print out the whole thing properly.....

Section C is interesting. I got a misfire in C3 a few days before these codes came up, I wonder if they're related.......and I did read elsewhere as well that taking the oil cap off with engine running isn't a sure fire test. I wonder if there is damage to the diaphragm in my PVC.

Going back to the shop that did all the resent work for a few tests, and hopefully find out what the deal is.

All you have to do is return unit in 10 days and pay freight both ways.
This sounds tempting, but I don't have the tools nor another set of wheels to use while experimenting.

Oh FARTS FOD!

Crap, didn't print out the whole thing properly.....
Double Farts!

Section C is interesting. I got a misfire in C3 a few days before these codes came up, I wonder if they're related.......and I did read elsewhere as well that taking the oil cap off with engine running isn't a sure fire test. I wonder if there is damage to the diaphragm in my PVC.
Yeah it's not very scientific now is it?

Going back to the shop that did all the resent work for a few tests, and hopefully find out what the deal is.
Retracing your steps and returning the car to verified stock is a good start in the JPPSG process.
Start by un-pimping this thing........Take to STAGE NONE!
