Wait, what exactly does this man stand accused of besides wrongthink? His opinions may be distasteful and unpopular, but I was under the impression that the First Amendment was still the law of the land, and thus he's allowed to have them without fear of prosecution by the government.

Oh, wait, he's also "accused of deleting his Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts". Since when is that illegal? Also, the contents of those accounts couldn't possibly have been very controversial or Facebook, Instagram and Twitter would have done it for him.

You're old, you are fired!
... and once you're fired most other employers will not give you a job which you are fully qualified for because ....... you're old!

Most managers want 'bright young things' even though their lack of experience means they make more dumb expensive mistakes which delay projects than a more experienced 'old' employee.

How do I know all this - I experienced it first hand before I gave up and retired early (oh and so did SWMBO).

making savings to invest in new technologies as EU regulators crack down on emissions.
So cracking down on emissions has a human cost? Who'd have thunk it?

I guess these workers will just have to learn to code install solar panels.

The problem with hydrogen is that it's not a "fuel" in the traditional sense. Although it's the most common element in the universe, there is no free hydrogen available to be extracted from the ground; it's all bound up, either with carbon atoms, or with oxygen atoms, and those bonds have to be broken before you have plain hydrogen. So hydrogen has to be made, either by "reforming" a hydrocarbon such as natural gas (methane), or by electrolysis of H20. Both processes require large energy inputs to break the bonds. Reforming a hydrocarbon leaves you just as much CO2 to deal with as if you had just burned the hydrocarbon, but much less useable energy in the end. Electrolysis is even less efficient because you're using electricity that has to be produced somehow. It would be far more efficient to turn the electricity directly into motive energy than to use it to make hydrogen and then run that hydrogen through an heat engine subject to Carnot limits.

Bottom line: Hydrogen is at best an inefficient means of temporarily storing energy. There are also big issues with distribution. You can't just pump it through the existing natural gas pipeline infrastructure; H2 is a tiny little molecule that leaks out of every imperfection in joints and materials themselves, and then there's the problem of hydrogen embrittlement of metals...

^^^ Jack: given your 4 year interest in the plane, have you been considering Trump's "folly" as a possible purchase for your business? I reckon it would look fantastic pained with the European_Parts corporate livery.........and you get to use a gold toilet (which speaks volumes about Trump's ego; even his turds are precious)!!
