The thing is that unless and until there is a credible charging network for EVs many people will still have "range anxiety", which hybrids don't suffer from - so I can see GM & VW losing sales to the Ford, Toyota, et al hybrids.

To illustrate the lack of EV charging points near me (UK, North Devon) here are 2 local examples:
- on the M5 services near Taunton there are approximately 20 pumps at the gas station but there are only 2 EV charging points
- in the nearest town (Barnstaple) there are multiple gas stations at supermarkets as well as branded gas stations (I would estimate there are at least 50 pumps around the town) but the only public EV charging points are in the Asda (Walmart) parking lot and there are only 3 of them

Environmental activists chained themselves to tracks to stop a train transporting cars from a Volkswagen plant in northern Germany.
What if the train had been unable to stop in time?

Well than you would have a train track of martyr's now wouldn't you and see what that has brought about & throughout history & with some crazy fiction books about each story?

They would of been dragged or died at each of the "train stations of the cross" by Canon law definition?

Doesn't oil come from the ground?

Jack the news about Audi is the opposite of the reports on all auto sales in China. Yesterday I read a report that auto sales in China are off double digits this year over last year. That is across all brands. So Audi has done well to find a niche in that market where they are growing while others - including VW and Skoda - are taking it on the chin. The China economy is in a recession most say. The Chinese government has yet to recognize and say the economic conditions are a recession. Our distributors mention the difficulties for the Chinese people. The trade war is not the sole reason for this down turn although it did not help China. The recession, if it is ever declared as such, began at least a year ago and more likely 2-3 years ago.

I should go pull the data from which I have drawn these conclusions. Problem is I did not save the articles..

[h=1]VW recalls 679K cars in US to fix potential rollaway problem[/h]
Your link doesn't work for me, but this is all over the news:
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=VW+recalls+679K+cars+in+US+to+fix+potential+rollaway+problem

The recall covers certain 2011 through 2018 Jettas; 2015 through 2019 GTIs; 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019 Golfs; 2012 through 2019 Beetles and Beetle Convertibles; and 2017 through 2019 Golf SportWagens. All have automatic transmissions, manual hand brakes and keyless entry.

VW says silicate can build up on a shift lever switch, allowing the key to be removed if the lever isn’t in park. That could let the cars roll off unexpectedly.

Use your parking brake, people!
