Reverting to an old version will not address the CFB 0.0 situation, as that is part of the interface and not the software installed on the PC/Laptop.

Please email us (as mentioned before) and give us time to sort this out on Monday. Sorry for your troubles.

I just updated mine - VCDS and Dongle Firmware.

In VCI Config I can see:
CB 0.4660
FW 0.258

Not tried plugging it into a car but I'm hoping all is good looking at the above numbers - Is that so ?

Any update after 11:30 am (EST) should be fine, though yours would not be effected anyways (slightly different generation).

No, definitely not. Power-cycle the HEX-V2. Exit and re-start VCIConfig. Then try again.

I've received the same. Cancelled the upcoming MOT as (friendly though he may be) airbag light on is not gonna fly.

I’m bleedin furious. I know it’s not intentional, but you would think they bench test updates on all devices before releasing them. I’m so angry with myself because I wasn’t going to click update, but I thought it’s just my luck they’ve sorted the SFD unlock thing and if I don’t update I’ll end up spending money needlessly on Vaglogins to unlock the modules I need to work on.
So your motor now misses its MOT and if I don’t get my Van sorted this week I’m f****d for my week away in it the following week.

Same boat mate. I'm kicking myself for updating, normally I ignore it but it said firmware needed updating before I could do anything else... imagine my surprise when it seemingly bricked my device.

I don't think I've had it even a year, if it's screwed then I need a replacement asap, not a unspecified date in the future

Speaking personally as a retired software tester and someone on their Alpha test list, I know from personal experience that it's basically impossible to test every software update on every piece of hardware.

They do lots of both bench testing and on vehicle testing, both by Ross-Tech people and customers like me.

As Dave already mentioned, our internal testing didn't catch this and we are still investigating the issue. As mentioned before, we pulled the problematic CFB as soon as we were aware of a wider issue. Due to effecting only a limited hardware range and this happening on a weekend, the number of customers effected (as far as we know yet) is not as big as it may seem here.

Keep in mind, the work day has started about 2 hours ago in the US and while this is at highest priority for us, you do not want us to rush a fix either. I'll try and update this thread as soon as we have more information for you.

Click on [Advanced] and switch to Beta channel.

Then go back to update and recheck. A new update will appear, click on [Download & Update].

You don't need power from the vehicle, just a USB connection.

Note: This applies to Hex Net only, not Hex V2.

Instead of switching your HEX-NET to the Beta Channel, please try "Skip VCDS-Mobile Update" instead. This should yield the same result but keep you on the Release Channel.
