I bought a cruise control stalk online with part number 1K0-953-513G to install in my 2008 MK5 Golf later today. I haven't bought any additional wiring or modules. I want to know if I need to buy any additional modules or wiring to make this work in my car.

I was hoping that since my car is a 2008 model, I wouldn't need to buy any additional modules or wiring, so the process could be as simple as swapping the replacement stalk and wiring. I'd then just play around with the coding to get the desired results. I'm just trying to avoid removing the steering wheel twice to get the job done.

I had looked at that page already, but I still can't conclude based on the part number for my module that it would work for my module without additional wiring. I only see where I should take a gamble based on my 2008 model being newer than 2007 where the wiring was required.

your module support, check connector coming to module if it has pin 13 (black/white wire) if you have it just replace stalk and code it, if not you need to route wire from steering wheel module to ECU.

I pulled off the steering wheel and replaced the stalk today, I did coding to only Module #01 and Module #16 to say Cruise control without the board.
I haven't test driven the vehicle as yet, but I'll be doing so shortly to see if it works. I forgot to look for the wiring to see if my car came pre-wired. I may have to look at the MVB to be sure, since I've sealed everything up.

simple switch ON/ OFF CCS, RES/SEt and you will see if ECu get error .
if no ERROR - and all is code correct , should be ok

Indeed the retrofit worked perfectly. In the MK5 I get no visual indication that the system is on, other than the cruise control LED. I was expecting something in my multifunction display to tell me what the set cruise control speed is when I resume the cruise control operation.

this is only in UDS cluster and also depend of ECU
your cluster can be "adjust" to enable GREEN CCS Indicator when you switch ON CCS toggle ( but CCS is still not enable)
it was like that in older clusters till 2006
