Electric folding mirrors

Hi all.
We have just got a 2017 scirocco and it has electric folding mirrors. They only fold when you ask them to on the mirror adjustment switch.
My question is, can they be programmed to fold/unfold when you lock/unlock the car
I will post an autoscan when i get home from work later but so far haven't been able to find an option to do this (or if it is even possible)

On PQ35 cars no. But some control modules support comfort operation of mirrors. You can fold them by holding the lock button on the remote. After I think 2 - 3 seconds the mirrors should fold.
If they don't then your door control modules don't support them :(

Depending on the modules generation you can either do it with VCDS or need to modify the EEPROM (not possible with VCDS) to enable mirror folding.

You can determine the version by checking the label file name for module 42 in the Autoscan:
MAX3 - will require EEPROM change
GEN4 - possible through adaption


For GEN4 it goes like this:
ECU 42 > Login: 04354 > Adaption > Channel "(9)-System_Parameter_0-System Parameter Byte8" > set value to "95" or "99"

90 = default value
95 = mirror folding via keyfob and automatic opening on ignition on
99 = mirror folding via keyfob and automatic opening on driver door open

Would you mind posting them please as I want to do my Wife's Tiguan with Gen4 controllers,

I had a quick play and noticed that 42 seemed to be the passenger door? as it had no measuring blocks for mirrors switches etc, but never seems to get it working.

OK, so this took a lot of time and effort to find out and thanks goes to my mate n4s on the Tiguan forum who I worked with to get the right settings.

Goto module 42, unlock by going to security tab (VCDS will tell you the code).

Goto adaptation

find

(2)-System_Parameter_14-System Parameter Byte1, change E0 to E5 - open with ignition

or

(2)-System_Parameter_14-System Parameter Byte1,change E0 to E9 - open with door

Save

Make sure convenience is set in the MFD.

DGMotors, please post the Auto-Scan in addition to Adaptation function maps from 42 and 52 from your wife's Tiggy. My 2012 SEL (WVGBV7AX1CW000438 has the older Gen modules like the Scirocco so that isn't possible on my Tiggy.

Edit, I didn't see welshkaiboy's reply when I posted but the maps/scan from the car with UDS / Gen 4 modules couldn't hurt.

It is a bit of a bummer that as the car is using old stuff. It is a 2017 reg but I will have to see what year it was manufactured.

I changed it to E9 and works fine.

The only real issue I have is that with Kessy (Keyless) you have to press the remote button for 2 seconds to get them to fold. Would be nice to have them fold with touching the door handle but think this cant be done.
