Disable orange light on driving mode button

**This is for a MK7 Golf**..sorry forgot to put in title....

Basically I want to turn of the function that the driving mode selection button (by gearstick) turns from white to orange if you have the car in any other mode other than normal.

Effectively making the button light up white only

I consider an orange light to be a warning that I have activated an on/off button, but that button is not an on/off, it is a selector button & I am fed up having a bright orange led staring at me!!

I briefly saw a post on golf forum that someone had turned it off, but no mention of how.

Now I can't find the post & goggle is not much help either.

I have look in all the modules, & the main "Driving profile select" coding lines are time parameters to adjust! I know I could go into the steering & engine etc. & permanently fix those modes for those parameters.

Still having a look, but if anyone knows without having to rip the switch apart...

Dave:- thanks for the PM: Not sure if I entirely understand the changes that you have undertaken, but I recently went through a process of developing a more fulsome list of the Byte/Bit function for the BCM on my test-bench which has the following details:

To get the information, I thieved data from a number of diagnostic devices including my faithful HEX-NET cable and I confirmed the Byte/Bit associations by switching on/off each descriptor in each cable and then comparing the before/after effect on the BCM code-string. Anyhow, I include below the results of my Herculean labor for Byte 15.

If my table is correct, the sequence for your task should have been Byte 15 Bit 5 =1, Bit 7 =1. This should have retained the Drive selection button and it should have disabled the orange LED- I think!

This I did the other day after messing around in module19 trying lines there. It generated a few fault codes which cleared after this scan as I had just returned the coding to "before".

Just last night I was looking through the adaptation channels for [09-Cent. Elect.] and found the following items that might be of interest. I'm not sure what parameters are allowed, but you might want to give it a shot. (This is from my '18 NAR Alltrack, so yours may be a bit different.)

Quick follow-up: I just tested this on my '18 Alltrack. Worked like a charm. Set it to "LED not installed." The Drive Mode button still functions the way it's supposed to, but the orange light is gone.
