Which BCM is the right one?

Don't mix NAR/EU/RoW BCMs... The frequencies for the keyless lock/unlocking is extremely likely to be different (315MHz vs 433Mhz) Highline/SEL/TDIs in the USA *should* work as these cars have more 'luxury' options (BCMs ending in '086' or '087') Look up various autoscans in the reference...

Swap cluster automatic to manual vw bora 2009

Are you certain it's not the 'recommended gear selection' that shows up? A lot of clusters will show the recommended gear for manual cars; I forget if the option is on or off by default; some will even show you the gear you are in as well... If "P", "R", "N", "D" show up, well of course that's...

2011 Jetta Sportwagen ABS Pump/Module replacement

First step: Grab/save a current Autoscan (with the current ABS module) Second-Third-Fourth steps: change modules and do whatever bleeding as required Fifth Step: code new module with VCDS with old coding (modify in case new unit has more bytes) Sixth step: basic settings on the 'new' ABS unit...

    ABS CODING JETTA 2.0 2012

This looks like a GLI, so the brake must be the "GTI-sized" rotors (in the front at least, I think VW put smaller rear rotors in the back of this generation GLI). To most people (in the NAR market anyways), a "Jetta 2012 2.0" is an 'mk6' jetta with the 2.slo engine ('Old' 2 litre 8 valve)...

2012 Golf TDI - No Dash, No Crank, No Horn, No Comm

Ah, I take it pin 5 is pin 1's ground, and the 15a circuit doesn't need to get energized (for this simple case). That makes it even simpler. I updated my drawing & credits Cheers

2012 Golf TDI - No Dash, No Crank, No Horn, No Comm

I never thought I'd be looking at a VCDS threat with a bag of fresh popcorn... haha But seriously, As for the gateway, the easiest way (and cheapest/most independent way) would be to do a basic testbench. You'd need a ODB2 receptacle socket; wire Can H/Can L, 2 x 1x+12V power wires (30a and...

2012 VW Polo ABS Long Code

You'll likely be asked to post a full autoscan for ABS coding as the unit coding likely relies on information about other modules. You will also Uwe-likely be asked to get verified, if the process hasn't been started already: https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/2601/

    2009 GTI MK5 light issues

Address 55 will be the one you'll want to look at. It will likely also have 'not adjusted' and 'incorrect basic settings/adaptation' errors, so SOME checks/things will need to be done in VCDS for the module to be happy (disregard the G85 one, that will clear itself once the steering angle...

    Volkswagen Passat B6 ABS

Tagged for interest. Damn now im curious. Where does the 'automatic transmission' option appear outside in the installation list in the gateway? (hard coded in some ECUs?, ABSs, what else) Gateway doesn't have it listed, but car is still looking for it and lists a part number along with errors.

    2009 GTI MK5 light issues

Holy sheet, how did that pass a safety in Ontario?? Since you have a lot of intermittent codes with different mileage, and you have pre-cleared autoscan, I'd clear all of them and turn on/drive a little and recheck codes. Right off the bat this feels like a dying battery/loose +12V...

    RS3 Brake Booster/MC Upgrade in MK6 GTI w/ 18z Calipers - Brakes Locking Up.

Tagged for interest (I did an 'R32' MC on 'GTI' brakes) and always interested in these retrofits :) What part numbers did you use for the MC and BB? Also, if the above trick doesnt do it, disconnect a caliper brake line from one of the calipers to relieve pressure (and see if that's the issue)...

    Jetta 2010 2.0TSI - "R32" Master Cylinder retrofit

I changed 11 to 14, and the difference is subtle, but definitively noticeable. I'd say there's a 15-20% reduction is pedal force i have to use for the same braking feeling. The whole brake experience feels 'smoother'. Not sure how to define it - The best comparison I have is like comparing the...

    Jetta 2010 2.0TSI - "R32" Master Cylinder retrofit

Aye, I'll have to check if the brake assist coding option is at its normal setting as I played around with that setting as well. Putting things back to baseline should help for the comparisons.

    Jetta 2010 2.0TSI - "R32" Master Cylinder retrofit

Good day, I'm posting this here as other folks might do this retrofit, and require a coding change for their ABS units. I retrofitted a larger Master Cylinder in my 2.0TSI Jetta. OEM MC bore size was 0.875"/22.2mm, "R32" upgrade is 0.938"/23.8mm. (I also had to change the brake booster to fit...

2010 Golf lost ABS Coding. ESP MK60EC1

Ah, got it, cheers. I'm updating my stuff on my list right now. Oh, crap.. I changed my master cylinder for a bigger "Golf R" one on my 2.0TSI jetta.. I guess I should change that one in my ABS coding as well.

2010 Golf lost ABS Coding. ESP MK60EC1

Oh wow, changing byte 00 from '13' to '16' (and its check byte) made that big of a difference? Good to know. I don't even know how the ABS unit knows what 'car model' (or whatever bytes 00 represent) its installed into.
