2017 Jetta: Dealer refused to perform recall service unless the tank is below 1/4 full

@EuroX They kept insisting that they need to drain the tank. I asked if they could show me the recall letter and point where it states I have to drop the car with certain fuel level. They didn't take that well. The service advisor got very annoyed and told me to go find a different dealership...

@Dr Sheldon Good point. I will try to clear the DTC and take it for a test drive. @EuroX The warning light seems to work. Do you have any suggestions?

2017 VW Jetta - How to diagnose airbag light

Update: I tried if the passenger detection and the "passenger airbag disabled" light both work and they do. When I start the car with no passengers inside, the "passenger airbag disabled" light will glow orange. When someone sits on the seat, the orange light will disappear. So the seat sensor...

2017 Jetta: Dealer refused to perform recall service unless the tank is below 1/4 full

An update in case anyone else ran into the same issue. The dealership really just made up the rule that they won't honor the recall service if the car's tank is above 1/4. I assume they just don't want to pay for fuel in case they need to drain the tank. I called another dealer and they had no...

2017 Jetta: Dealer refused to perform recall service unless the tank is below 1/4 full

Short question: Can I drain my tank to 1/4 full without consequences? Full question: Today, I drove my car to the dealer since it was selected for the fuel rail recall. The fuel rail bolts on my 2017 Jetta have to be replaced. The dealer refused to perform the service, since my tank was above...

2017 VW Jetta - engine misfires are back :(

I got them from AutoZone. I bought 4 ignition coils. I destroyed one by accident :)and replaced the 3 remaining coils. Two out of the three coils seem to be fine. The one coil at cylinder #1 started having issues. The suspicious thing is that the last set of coils had also issues at the cylinder #1.

2017 VW Jetta - engine misfires are back :(

Hi Team! First off, thank you all for your input! Update: The car had an issue with misfires on cylinder #1. I moved the ignition coil from the cylinder #1 to the cylinder #2 and the misfire immediately jumped to the cylinder #2. The coil is now replaced and the car has no issues! My question...

2017 VW Jetta - engine misfires are back :(

Hi Uwe! Thanks for fixing the post title. I did the fuel pressure test and came up with the following conclusion: The fuel pressure at idle was 12.6 MPa. About 20 minutes after turning off the engine, the fuel pressure maxed at 16.4 MPa. From the top of my head these numbers don't look good to...

2017 VW Jetta - Engine misfires on all cylinders :(

Oh, good catch! The above is the latest auto-scan log for my car. The reason why we can't see MIL nor the DTC codes is that I have reset the codes before running the scan. I have attempted some of the listed repairs. Then I reset the codes and road tested the car to see if a code will come...

2017 VW Jetta - Engine misfires on all cylinders :(

Car: 2017 VW Jetta Mileage: 105k km (65k miles) Engine: 1.4 TSI / Engine family EA211 / Engine variant CZTA The car started having random misfires on all cylinders (about 2-5 misfires per cylinder every 5 minutes). I noticed these items when using VCDS. I am not sure if they are relevant...

VW Jetta 2017 SE (MK6, Kessy) adding a new key remote - Hard fail

I just wanted to record my experience so others save themselves the money and time to go to a VW dealer to bail them out. I followed a famous YouTube tutorial on how to add a new key fob to VW Jetta MK6 using VCDS. It was a year 2014, thus same generation as mine. The first step says: Connect...
