Happy new year! My problems began because I wanted to replace the original head unit with a newer MIB2. I bought the MIB2 from a random Joe Shmoe on eBay, and later learned I needed a specific wire harness adapter and microphone; which I purchased from Eurozone Tuning. I installed the radio and it worked for a couple of days, although the backup camera did not. Soon after, Component Protection activated and only the navigation worked. I called Eurozone Tuning and was told I needed a later version of the CanBus module for the rear camera to work, so I bought that too. In the meantime, I learned the radio can only be unlocked using ODIS by the dealership. The dealer installed the updated CanBus module, copied the original installation list to the new module (all, except the navigation for which I don't know why) and after two failed attempts by two different VW dealers, deactivating CP with ODIS, failed. I then was told by Eurozone Tuning that only a "specialist" can unlock the radio. Of course, they could do it for another $400. They can buzz off at this point! Side Note... I was very clear and transparent over email when I told them exactly what car I have and what I was trying to do. They should've been more forthright and honest on what this would entail. Instead they kept stringing me along as I spent more money. Now I'm too far vested into this to abandon it. **By the way, I checked off the navigation box on the CanBus installation list since it was checked off on the original unit installation list.**

So, I sent the radio out to a different "specialist" (For less than half the money) and he unlocked it. Upon receiving it, I cleared all DTCs and reinstalled the radio. Now, with an updated CanBus module, an unlocked MIB2 head unit, it is working except for the backup camera. The park distance control also seems to be working since I hear the beeps and see the vehicle graphic on the screen.

In the meantime, the TPMS and Cornering Lights are not functioning properly. I don't know why the TPMS doesn't work, and the cornering light bulbs are not burned out and are original. The only thing I changed were the foglights to yellow LED bulbs with the anti-flicker adapters attached to the wire harness.

Please look at the AutoScan. I don’t know where to begin. I’ve looked all over the Ross-Tech forum and VW Vortex forum, but could not find any information I needed. I also asked for help from Ross-Tech tech support since I'm new here and recently bought the scan tool. I hope they will respond as well. Any insight you guys can provide is greatly appreciated.

Well, the autoscan you've provided doesn't have the CAN gateway with the needed minimum software part number suffix of 7N0907530BC. That's one thing that MIB2 would like to have.

Of course you will not have RVC with that old RVC module and camera. You'll need to upgrade to module 7N0907441B and swap the camera itself for a different one. This is a job in itself.

Headlight module 55 (cornering lights) and TPMS module 65 are offline. Check fuses.

As for the parking aid, it is suggested to upgrade the module to 1K8919472C to gain full compatibility with MIB2. This will entail a wiring adapter, which can be had from the Chinese bazaar.

I appreciate your response and hank you in advance with your patience since this is all new to me. For clarity...

The CAN gateway I bought from Eurozone Tuning because they told me it's what I needed to get the camera to work, is the wrong one?

What is RVC?

Regarding the modules 55 and 65; I never thought to check fuses. I don't think I witnessed anything happen for them to blow out. Perhaps something happened when the module was installed by the dealer?

I found this item on my own: https://www.carsystems.eu/adapter-m...-to-1k8-rns-to-mib-radio-retrofit,id3613.html but am uncertain if this is something I needed.

The guy who unlocked the MIB2 for me said that I should order this and he'd walk me through the modification. https://www.ebay.com/itm/225122127443
I think I'm in way too deep and not getting anywhere with this project. I'm wondering if I can just restore it to what it was before.

Genco, you can see or sense from siLc's post that retrofitting on vw/audi's can be quite comprehensive ; and often times VERY challenging. Frankly, its not a good place to start.....but, many of us have been attracted and then lured into these projects (ask me how I know!). This is all part of learning (about component protection) and many other vw/Audi caveats!
Although frustrating for you, it seems you have actually made quite a bit of progress on your own.
I guess you will have to decide if you trust this person below who "unlocked" your item and if he can provide what you actually want ; I'm sure he may help, but it won't be long until you get "hung up" once again.

You can often find individuals who will provide One step in the process, but because they no little or nothing about VW/Audi systems, you feel taken advantage of. As mentioned above by siLc's comments , you are going to have several missing functions unless you install all those components AND configure/code them!
The guy who unlocked the MIB2 for me said that I should order this and he'd walk me through the modification. https://www.ebay.com/itm/225122127443

Next time come here to the forum First and propose your plan. That way the membership can comment on all the particulars ; you can then make a informed and knowledgeable decision on your project. Oh, one more tip......in general, regarding the CAN-BUS (electronics) system there is NOTHING on ebay that is plug n play for these cars.

I'm pretty sure you could restore what you originally had installed, but it may need some adjustments and I believe VCDS could do that.

One of my favorite quotes is "if you think education is expensive..... try ignorance".

I understand the frustration you are in now, but I would say to keep going, when you have everything working it will be worth it. And you will find many people on here willing to help you out.
As for 55 and 65 modules, those are on the Extended CAN, it seems that your gateway doesn't support it. Also the same thing for module 61, which uses Lin bus from proper gateway. Edit: (seems you have H55, it doesn't have Extended CAN, but it does support LIN1 and LIN2, so the error in module 61 shouldn't exist, perhaps wrong coding).
The gateway you need should have one of the following codes: HH41, HH46, HH51, HH56 all with two LIN buses LIN1 and LIN2 and added extended CAN bus (latest 7N0 gateways ending in letters AN, BL, BR, BQ should work)
LIN1 - used to connect a generator and battery monitoring terminal.
LIN2 - for the panoramic roof control unit and clock in B7.
Ext. CAN - ACC 7N0, TPMS, Lane Assist 3Q0, AFS in Xenon headlights in some models.

RVC - Rear View Camera. For use with Discover Media radio, you have two options: lowline camera that connects directly to the radio and has fixed lines (you can use any composite type camera from VAG, your current one should work), and highline, where you have to install a module 7N0 that SiLc mentioned, and a specific camera that came in CC after 2016, for it to be able to calibrate correctly.
Camera - 3C8 827 469 D (cameras from these also work, but you'll have to remove the camera and install in your badge mechanism - 5N0 827 566 AL, 7N0 827 566 A, 5N0 980 551 C)
Highline controller - 7N0 907 441 B
Connector - 4G0 972 420 (You can find complete cabling in carsystems or kufatec sites, maybe even in aliex)

The module from carsystems should work to maintain PDC you currently have, but you might find better deals if you look for the individual items separately.

Stefdds gave you very good advise, come here first and people will gladly help you avoid spending money on things you don't need or do not work.

As I go back to my communications with Eurozone Tuning, I found the link they sent for me to place my order. The numbers you wrote siLc are the same as the listing on their website. Is it possible they sent me the wrong one? How can I tell?
https://eurozonetuning.com/products...1&_sid=3fbc97c80&_ss=r&variant=13409989722173

As for 55 and 65 modules, those are on Extended Can, that seems that your gateway doesn't support or is disabled.
Thank you CF.T for your response. How can I find the codes you mentioned (HH41, HH46, HH51, HH56)? My car is the 2014 executive 4motion with AFS and cornering lights. The car did not have ACC or Lane Assist. If it turns out that the gateway I bought is in fact the correct one; how do I enable the cornering lights and the TPMS? The other things don't interest me.
Regarding the cornering light and tpms problems; I can't imagine there a blown fuses. Something else went wrong during this whole process. Perhaps I did something when I started using the tool? The TPMS light on the instrument cluster appeared sometime after the gateway was installed by the dealer. Several days must've passed before I noticed the TPMS light.

stfdds, well said, and thank you too for your input. I relied primarily on VWVortex and other internet resources to a lesser extent. I just don't remember exactly what other websites I looked at.

The codes you can find visually in the label, upper right corner you have SW version Sxxxx and bellow that code HHxx.
In VCDS scan you can find it here, in bold:

Address 19: CAN Gateway (J533) Labels:. 7N0-907-530-V2.clb
Part No SW: 7N0 907 530 AR HW: 7N0 907 530 AM
Component: J533 Gateway H55 1653

You currently have HH55 that doesn't have extended CAN so it doesn't see what's connected on that CAN bus, meaning, doesn't see TPMS or AFS modules.
Euro zone tunning link does show a H56 gateway, but the description only says that they are selling a gateway that supports the 5F address for Discover Media radio, so by sending you a H55 with 5F address, they did sold you the product they said they would. But what you need is a gateway that supports other things besides Discover Media. You need a gateway with reference 7N0 907 530AN (might need sw update), 7N0 907 530BL, 7N0 907 530BR or 7N0 907 530BQ (or any others that have the before mentioned codes).

I'm beginning to understand this better. I know responses take valuable time, and I appreciate it very much. Nevertheless, they sold me the wrong thing since it doesn't even do what they said it would do, anyway. Regardless, I can't see myself rewiring and replacing the camera. Is it fair to assume that getting the correct gateway and the adapter (Adapter + Module 1K8919465 / SET for upgrade an older PDC REAR module to 1K8 / RNS to MIB Radio - Retrofit) from carsystems.eu could be the simplest solution?

How can I tell of four reference numbers you provided, which would be the best fir for my car?

Ok, one topic at a time

I do think they sold you what they said they did, you have the radio working, as far as I understand. The thing is, there are several gateway references that fulfill their description, but some have the the other options you need to get things in your car to work correctly, others don't. But none of those options have to do with the Radio working. Don't know if I'm making myself clear. Either way, TPMS and AFS will not work with your current gateway.

I understand you don't wanting to go through all the trouble to have highline rvc, but lowline is very simple affair with what you already have in your car currently. Only difference between is the moving lines with the steering wheel in highline, everything else will be the same in both options.

Upon checking again your carsystems link, I see that is not the correct reference, I apologize. Reference 1K8919465 is for rear sensors only (4K), you have front and rear sensors (8K), so you must have reference 1K8919472B/C. They say this one works https://www.carsystems.eu/adapter-m...-to-1k8-rns-to-mib-radio-retrofit,id3574.html

As for gateway, simplest would be any of these 7N0907530BL, 7N0907530BR or 7N0907530BQ, guaranteed to work with your setup. I had all three at one time or another.

Right... One thing at a time. You are correct. The radio does now work since being unlocked. The back up camera does not. My reluctance of rewiring and replacing the RVC is that I don't have the time, or an indoor space to take on that kind of job. Besides, I'm on the other side of the Iron Curtain in Upstate New York. It's too cold, dark and snowy to anything like that outside. I thought if the adapter and module from carsystems.eu was feasible, I could pay the dealer an hour's labor to install it.

1) If I understand correctly, I should get one of the gateways you listed which would correct the downstream problem of the current gateway not communicating with both the AFS and the TPMS.
2) If I buy the correct adapter you linked from car systems.eu, the rear view camera should then work as well.

Did I get it right?

2) If I buy the correct adapter you linked from car systems.eu, the rear view camera should then work as well.

Did I get it right?

There's some confusion between RVC and PDC. carsystems link is for PDC, to get it to work with DM radio (1K8919472B/C is PDC module reference).

These I mentioned before:
Camera - 3C8 827 469 D (cameras from these also work, but you'll have to remove the camera and install in your badge mechanism - 5N0 827 566 AL, 7N0 827 566 A, 5N0 980 551 C)
Highline controller - 7N0 907 441 B
Connector - 4G0 972 420 (You can find complete cabling in carsystems or kufatec sites, maybe even in aliex)

Are the ones needed to make highline RVC to work with the radio. For lowline option, it could be done with your current hardware and some changing of terminals.

1) If I understand correctly, I should get one of the gateways you listed which would correct the downstream problem of the current gateway not communicating with both the AFS and the TPMS.

Correct.

I recommend you reading everything on here a couple of times, and search for stuff you don't fully understand. You'll start internalizing all this stuff and get a better understanding of what you need.

Many thanks CF.T for all your help. I think I get it now. I was conflating the PDC and the RVC. They are two separate things. The PDC seems to be working since it beeps when I back up or move forward. There is also a car graphic on the screen while doing that. It's the RVC that doesn't show up on the screen. I have no view of what's behind the car when in reverse.

I'll look into getting the correct gateway to re-enable the TPMS and the cornering lights right away. I'll re-read everything and take my time looking into the RVC situation.

**You've been extremely helpful. I'd like to ask you about a lesser problem regarding the MIB2 installation, if I may. After installing and turning on the newly unlocked MIB2, the radio immediately blasted the sound and I had no control of the volume. The guy who unlocked it was able to make adjustments remotely using my VCDS to regain volume control.

Here is what he said was the problem: FYI... He's been very accommodating and quick to help. He jumped in straight away to fix this as soon as I reached out to him on eBay messages.
jettaboy_gtx:
The problem was that CC uses old school amplifier and if you code the radio for amplifier option it doesn’t work properly. Need to be coded same as cars without amplifier.

Video of adjustments made remotely. Watch out for the blast of sound during the video. Adjust your volume down.
MIB2 version information after unlocking

Of course the radio works now, but what's changed is that I don't have the fine/minute volume control I had with the original radio. The start up dB and incremental dB when turning the knob is much higher than the original radio. I don't have the fine tuning I had before. Also, the radio station graphics are not present. Should I be looking for a compatible Dynaudio amplifier from a 2015 model year? The CC was discontinued in the US after 2015.

When buying the gateway, make sure that what you receive is in the photo of the page you buy it from. Confirm reference and code mentioned before.

If your current PDC is working for you, then you don't really need to change it.

jettaboy was correct, but incomplete. Your amplifier works with DM but there's a few changes that need to be done. He did coding and adaptation, but let's try this.

Coding:
Byte 11, change the value from 03 to 23 (write the number directly in the field, it will appear "None Found" in the menu, but it will be set correctly), see how that works. You amplifier is a 10 channel unit, so this should be the value for it. Unless something breaks with this change, let it be.

Check these additional Adaptation channels:
- ENG122229-ENG117764-Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2-Amplifier_0x2D → not activated ==> change to activated
- ENG122229-ENG117765-Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2-Amplifier_0x2D_msg_bus, → not activated ==> change to "Databus Infotainment"
- MAS00950-Audio Parameter → 0

Confirm if all of them are set. I don't know if this will correct the lack of fine tunning, but I suspect that if you play with the audio parameters you might find one that suits you. Make a note of the original value, in case you need to go back. Let us know how that went.

The radio logos should be in your radio's database, but sometimes this gets stripped. check the following adaptation channel, and register what number is there. I don't know the code for US, so try 1 for Auto setting, and see what happens. If it hasn't the logos database, then it's a more complicated procedure.
ENG109862-ENG126993-Vehicle_configuration-Station_Logo_DB_Mode → Set to 1 (auto)

If you don't have the Dynaudio logo when starting the radio, try adding one of these codes:
- ENG117919-Startup_Screen_Sticker_HMI → 00 02 or 00 1E - Dynaudio (check Soft Reset option before clicking Save)

That gateway should work, yes.

If you remove the radio you will see that there's a black connector hanging about, because DM connects to the camera in a very different way. Currently your camera is not even connected to the radio, I assume.

This old RVC module is completely useless for MIB2. Please refer to post #11 on your options.

I will add to this that besides changing the RVC module connector, you'll need to run a new video cable to the back of MIB2 from the new RVC module. I have this setup in my Passat B7 and did the conversion to a friend's Passat B7.

The other option, cheaper and simpler, run a fakra cable that connects directly to your current camera connector, and connects to two pins in radio's quadlock connector. No steering lines, though. But no need for calibration.

Edit: harness for the lowline transition https://www.carsystems.eu/vw-mib-re...he-new-type-with-composite-output,id3859.html

This is what I bought from Eurozone Tuning to connect the MIB2 to the OE harness behind the radio.

Quadlock Harness: https://eurozonetuning.com/products/quadralock-wiring-harness-for-mib2-retrofit
Microphone: https://eurozonetuning.com/products...etooth-microphone?_pos=1&_sid=5dc9fa5fc&_ss=r
USB/Aux kit: https://eurozonetuning.com/products/vw-usb-aux-wiring-kit-for-mib2

The guy who unlocked the MIB2 for me said that I should order this and he'd walk me through the modification. https://www.ebay.com/itm/225122127443

This is wha he wrote me when offering this option...

"So this wire that has blue plug on one end....basically you need to to unpin the the wires from the blue plug and repin them into your existing blue plug that i in your harness already. And then the rgb adapter plugs into that and into existing camera plug.RGB adapter also has 3 loose wires (one is ground one is positive and one is reverse signal but that is just connected to 12v positive)"

It sounds to me that what CF.T's suggestion is better. I'm okay with straight parking lines.

I will add to this that besides changing the RVC module connector, you'll need to run a new video cable to the back of MIB2 from the new RVC module. I have this setup in my Passat B7 and did the conversion to a friend's Passat B7.
Is there a schematic or a guide to do this properly?

That option wouldn't be even my last option. Specially if you have access to the hardware and someone who can install it, if you're not so inclined.
I've added the link for the harness to get your current setup to work with DM.
