Can't seem to do anything but autoscan

I've had and used VCDS for a handful of years on VW's with no problems. Since I got a 2017 A4 I needed to switch to Hex-net plus I dumped Windows for Linux figuring I could do everything through my Android phone.
I want to reset my service reminder but it gets hung up on "updating ASAM dataset", 15 mins of "preparing to update" with no progress. When I skip that and go to Instrument cluster>Cloud functions I see "No ASAM data found locally" (obviously) & continuing from there to Adaptations there are no choices in the dropdown menu just "Documented Adaptations can be selected here" I've un and reinstalled the app, do I have a defective dongle?

Please post an Auto-Scan so we can see what modules are in this vehicle. Maybe also post a screenshot because I checked the server logs and when I pull up the rod data for what I think is your module I see adaptations including IDE00342-ESI: Resetting ESI etc.

I see the proper adaptations for your 17 when I pull it up, I'm not sure why you wouldn't get it unless maybe the connection dropped. Have you tried a couple times to see if you get the list? You could also try the network test under the options page and post what it says.

I've been trying for a couple weeks. My phone gets 100% signal in my garage. I don't see network test under options. Is that just on the computer interface? If so I can't because my laptop runs on linux.

FWIW I appear to have the same dash as you and I just pulled it up on my car the adaptations are there. What browser are you using have you tried chrome and firefox?

OK, so I brought the dongle and cable to work and got an update as soon as I plugged it in to the computer. Now I have a full list of adaptations & am not sure which one will reset my oil service alert.
Also, I have to believe that my home router was blocking the update to the dongle so I have to work on that.

If you only have an Oil warning that's ESI: Resetting ESI. It will need to be changed from Warning Active to Reset or No Warning.

However, if the Inspection reminder is also on there are two additional channels related to Distance and Time based Service:

FIX: Distance covered since last mileage-dependent inspection
FIX: Time since last time-dependent inspection

Both of those would be set to 0 as the new value to clear both Oil -and- Insp at the same time.
