Hi,
received my HEX-V2 from Gendan yesterday and auto-scanned my 8H 2006 Audi A4 Cabrio 3.2 Quattro (attached).
Amongst other issues, the car has a headlight switch with 'auto' setting, auto lights have never worked in the time I have owned it.
The central electrics module has the following info:

I assume the module has been changed at some point and the VIN number not updated.
Does the '-' after '35-00 - ' mean there is no VIN number installed in the module?
The current coding for the unit (10001) is:
1 - Avant
0 - Rain/light sensor not installed
0 - Trailer hitch not installed
0 - Halogen headlights w/o daytime running lights
1 - Rest of World Countries with Bi-Xenon
Obviously Avant is not correct and I assume the vehicle has a rain/light sensor as it has an 'auto' position on headlight switch.
I believe coding should be 21001; I'm a little unsure about the halogen/bi-xenon - I believe the vehicle has halogen not bi-xenon headlights but have no way of confirming this, I'm not sure if you can confirm visually; is there a visual difference between the halogen and bi-xenon headlights (outside the different light colour/temperature)?
I can recode the module with HEX-V2 once I am happy that 21001 is correct, with regard the incorrect VIN in Cent. Elec. wiki states:

To start the process of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) learning, enter/save 46992 as new value.
Are there any precursor steps necessary before trying this? I assume I:
Click 'Select'
Click '09-Cent. Elect.'
Click 'Adaptation - 10'
Type '081' in Channel
Click 'Read'
Type '46992' in New value
Click 'Test' or 'Save'? Understand Test is to evaluate effect of change but I am unsure what effect should be (i.e. what should happen or if anything visible should happen).
Should VIN learning happen immediately/quickly? Are there any further steps? Does the value for Channel 081 need to be returned to previous once VIN learning complete?
