Hello experts! First time posting here, not sure if I am in the right area. I have a 2007 Audi A3 (8P) with the RNS-E navigation unit. I am trying to add a bluetooth aux input unit and need to code the radio to turn on the aux input. The current code is 0209117 which matches the car (CD changer, no phone, no sat radio, etc). As I understand it, to enable the aux input, I am supposed to change the second to last digit to a 5. This new code 0209157 is rejected by the system. I have tried multiple codes like removing the CD changer option, adding the phone option among other things and I still can not get the Aux option to appear. Any thoughts?

Ah, i believe this is short coding.
In this case, options 'add' a certain value to the current coding, which results in the new value. Therefore you can not just change one number of a valid coding string. If you are trying to code, in de input field you normally get a popup with the values to add to the current coding to get the desired result.

A few years ago I used to do a lot of RNS-E retrofitting but I'm a bit rusty now.
Having said that I'm fairly sure you need a 193 version of the RNS-E to enable the Aux input.
See audiforum.us for suitable part numbers, since you're in the US that means an 8P0 035 193 with suffix A, D or F

Adam on YouTube was able to code his 8P0 035 192 X with the Aux input. At 2:05 he shows you the serial tag of his unit and you can see the part number. I will see if he can share his short coding.

The other possibly important variable is the firmware version, since you haven't posted an Auto-Scan we don't know what firmware version your RNS-E has.
So two things:
1) post an Auto-Scan so we have all the information about your A3
2) also ask Adam what firmware version his RNS-E has

OK that shows you have firmware version 0150 so I guess you're still using maps from 2007 as the later US maps will update the firmware to 0260, see Audi Navigation DVD part numbers
My suggestion is that you get hold of one of the newer map DVDs (the newest listed is from 2016 8P0 060 884 CF) as this will update the firmware and then try enabling the Aux input again.

Update! YES, upgrading to 0260 allowed me to change the coding to enable the Aux input. I now have Bluetooth audio. Thank you Dave!
