Control module is in European Mode

I am new to this forum so not sure how to explain my issue. I got the Ross-Tech for my Audi A8 and was messing about with it. I have changed something that has altered the way that my controls inside work. I am from the uk but when I go to adjust heating etc. it is saying "Passenger" on the pop up screen. What did I change and how do I resolve this?

For reasons related in the main to the general nature of the information in your post, it ain't possible to be too specific in answering your seminal question "What did I change and how do I resolve this?".

However, you may be able to answer this question yourself (or at the very least, you may be able to provide more information in a second post - perhaps?).

I suspect that you may not be aware, but the wizened (and very sage) code cutters that Uwe has incarcerated in the dungeons of RT's HQ have provided a facility in VCDS software that records ALL the changes that you make with your device. This facility remembers both the new and the old value - how neat is that ????

Anyhow, on the laptop that you use to run VCDS, go to the directory C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Debug. In this directory IGNORE entirely the misleading contents in the Readme.TXT file (it's a blatant untruth !!!). Instead, you will find 2 x files called "CodingLog.CSV and AdpLog.CSV.

Open both of these files with something like MS Notepad, or a higher level App, like MS Excel. You will find the records of your previous changes in these files - like this:

• Adaptation channel changes are recorded in AdpLog.CSV
• Long-code changes are recorded in CodingLog.CSV

I have attched my diagnostics and Log from VCDS. My car is UK but my heating etc. from drivers side of the car is showing "passenger" on my side of the car. Does anyone know how to sort this. Also there is a fault in relation to air flow and engine management light on. Can anyone give me guidance on this.

To add to @PetrolDave comment, I must preface my response with the admission that I'm not familiar with your Audi A8 - nevertheless, based purely on your CodingLog information, it's clear from a quick glance that except for address hex61, none of the other records made actual changes to the modules.

In respect of the Address 61: Battery Regul module - here's a more readable version of the record in your table:

So - bottom line (and to address your original question - which related to the changes that were made) - specifically from the data provided by the VCDS history file, it appears that the ONLY effective change that was successfully implemented from your records is Byte 23, Bits 0-3 (i.e. the "lower nibble") on the hex61 module.

Now, I don't have any information about this car that identifies the purpose of the 4 x software switches that were altered (perhaps someone else can help), but if the symptoms that you describe resulted from changes made to the car on 29/12/2020 -by force of the brutal logic from my analysis, maybe try reverting Byte 23 to it's original setting?

PS: And, in respect of the hex07 question - if the search-vector "Interfacebox" is entered into the forum's search facilities, it's clear from the hits, that the Coding value 0000002 is not unusual for the hex07 module. Which of course doesn't mean that it's necessarily the correct value for this car - but it does suggest from a diagnostic perspective that this is perhaps a lower-order hypothesis to solving the riddle in this case (no offense intended to Dave)

Thanks. Not sure what I changed. I know I change a number to 1 in some settings but not sure when. I changed the battery coding which got rid of the fault that I had with battery regulation.

Have you also looked at the file that VCDS keep of adaptation changes, it's called AdpLog.csv and is located in the same folder as the CodingLog.csv that you appear to have found already.
