This is technically 3 different issues but they are on the same car and same system so I am making one thread.

1. Opened due to crash signal

I have been getting this code in my CCM:
01366 - Opened Due to Crash Signal 35-00

Which is accompanied by my doors unlocking and the dome lights activating. I believe it also disables my cruise control and disables the interior door lock button until the car power cycles. It does not activate the fuel cutoff.

I replaced the CCM, no change.

I unplugged the airbag module, no change.

2. Soft coding a replacement airbag module

I replaced the airbag module with a known good used one (same part number 4z7 959 655 C), problem still persists. In addition, I got these codes:
01044 - control module incorrectly coded 35-10
01215 - Seat Occupant Sensor, Driver Side Rear (G177) 35-00

Soft coding on both modules is 00407
Swapping the modules again results in the same errors, regardless of pulling the battery, clearing the codes, power cycling the car, or soft coding. Both modules now show the same errors.

The soft coding is being accepted because I can change it to 00406 and back to 00407 with no problem; the WSC also changes to my number.

3. Seat occupancy sensors

With either module, the advanced measuring blocks show that the seat occupancy sensors are either "too high" or "reversed polarity." All other blocks appear to register correctly/ normal.

So... is their a login code I need before I soft code? Do I need to run the car for a while to let it "register" or something?

The car is 2001 Audi Allroad 2.7t
Stage 3 mystery tune with immo delete, o2 delete, EGT delete, SAI delete
Front seats swapped with same seats from same year and model of car (symptoms persist between both sets of seats)
No record of a crash but there is evidence of left rear quarter body work

Please post an Auto-Scan so people can see all this in context.

I don't recall 2001 4B cars having with a seat occupied sensor.

Well even in the back seat, there is a momentary single pole switch on a lever directly in the center of each seat. The wires to that switch are routed into the yellow airbag plug, so I would say it does have occupancy sensors. Maybe the functionality was not built into the airbag module that year but the hardware is there and the module seems to be looking for it, since it throws a code for the sensor...

When you post the Auto-Scan, be sure the VIN is listed as well.

I have to agree with Uwe, I'm not aware of any 2001 with a POD system in it. And looking at a wiring diagram for a 2001, I don't see any G177 listing as well.

Well, both modules have the same error codes, so let's just remove the used module from the equation. Getting my original module to function without these codes would be just fine with me.

As far as diagrams go, I don't think there is any mention in any of my diagrams with regards to my solar sunroof either, so my faith in their documentation of electrical features is weak, at best.

Attached is my autoscan and an image of the switch under my rear bench. Identical switches are present on either side. There is a sprung lever that actuates the switch when there is weight on the seat, I can hear it when I press on the seat... if that isn't an occupancy switch, it must be a "switch that is activated when the seat is... occupied."

I was pulling the battery cables a lot between scans, which is where some of those voltage errors are coming from.

Well for starters id say you have an s4 engine ecu in an a6 allroad & that is just stupid FOD on top of the deleted smog components aforementioned.
Is the air bag controller the correct part #?

The ECU came with the car with those things tuned out. Thanks for the heads up on the ECU part number, I never thought to check on that. I will add that to the list of wonky crap from the previous owner that I need to replace.

The airbag module is the correct number. I got a replacement from the same year and model. I also verified the part number with my friend who has the exact same car.

Fixed the 01044 error by... spraying the harness with deoxit. What a silly overly sensitive system. That harness was sparkly clean to begin with.:banghead:

Now to figure out the 01366 code and the "too high" occupancy sensors.

For your crash signal problem, we've seen at least one other owner tripped up by a bad/wrong hazard light switch. As a diagnostic, try disconnecting it and see if the 01366 goes away.

Jason

100% correct.

I have been searching for this remedy for 2 years. ROSSTECH, please update your entry for this error code on your FAQ site.

01366 is FIXED!

Attached is my autoscan and an image of the switch under my rear bench. Identical switches are present on either side. There is a sprung lever that actuates the switch when there is weight on the seat, I can hear it when I press on the seat... if that isn't an occupancy switch, it must be a "switch that is activated when the seat is... occupied."
A glance at PL24 for your VIN shows that your rear seats each have a pressure plate 4B0 885 363 A which actuates switch for seat heating 431 959 489 C. Presumably they're for disabling seat heating if nobody's there. Passenger occupancy detection is sort of a standard term for disabling airbags if nobody's there, which I think is why everyone is a bit confused. So for this purpose let's go with your fallback definition of "switch that is activated when the seat is... occupied" until we figure out what's going on. :D

You state these things are wired up to the yellow airbag harness... I can't explain that, or why the airbag module is coming up with those codes. I suggest double checking that, as well as the part numbers on those components. Maybe this thing legitimately has airbag POD, maybe not.
