Faults in AC, but functionally working. Why the faults?

What about pull down menus in adaptation 10 or 04 basic settings?

The only thing 04 allows for in the pull down menu is ADP flap alignment.

I will check adaptation 10 tomorrow morning and post the results there. IIRC it didn't have any labels for any of the groups. I could poll groups 1-15 (approx.) and I would get readings but no explanation of what they are. I could be thinking of a different menu though, Like I said, I try tomorrow morning and post then.

Not coding 2
07 please.
Looks like that module is not codeable. Google found me several scans of that exact module part number and just like this one, none of them show a coding value.

Car running at Idle - Basic Settings 003 - wait till it stops blinking - then Basic Settings 004 - after that Cycle Ignition and look for Codes.
Basic 003 can take up to 10 Min. - Basic 004 up to 5 Min.
If 003 doesn´t do anything - try holding rpm at about 2000 rpm during BS.

Uwe I saw the same thing last night when searching scans.

Not very often I see a module that is not code able.

Still must be adaption or basics.

When you start basic settings 003 by pressing the on button, after it is completed are we supposed to turn it off by pressing off ? Or do we just go to 004 basic settings, then after it is completed, close the controller?

DING DING DING we have a winner!

OK so this cleared 1 of the 2 persisting codes!

This means indeed the controller was waiting for me to perform tests on it.

So 003 ends with System Not OK, after the test runs.

When I manually entered 004 and clicked go, the 'feed back value' was "system not OK" . Go I clicked ON/OFF/NEXT and started that test. When it was done it said "system OK".

Soooooooooo Does this mean I also seem to have a problem with my left temperature flap control motor? So what would a symptom be. I assume this is drivers side. I know I get cold or warm air out of my drivers side vents when I request it (now that my AC is fixed lol).

For reference, this is the code DTC that remains:

01487 - System Function Test
001 - Upper Limit Exceeded
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 01100001
Fault Priority: 3
Fault Frequency: 1
Reset counter: 145
Mileage: 62392 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2011.05.31
Time: 11:30:31

The other code, 01487 - system function test - implausible signal , has cleared after running test asper instructed on group 004.

Rayms69, The test stops on its own. If you watch the climate control module, it blinks while the test is running. You'll either end with a 'system ok', or a 'system not ok' message.

VAGTUNING, Thank you very much for shedding some light on what the climate control module is asking for.

Uwe, you guys should add this to the wiki http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/01487. Something along the lines of 'when found' in climatronic system, perform basic settings in group 003 and after that, group 004. cycle ignition, rescan for codes. The test results for each group seem to imply where to start looking for a solution. Which is much better than the generic dtc the controller is return. wow vw, vague much?

Hell, I'll write the wiki entry for you if you want, and submit it to someone there for final editing. Let me know.

The catch is, I'm not sure exactly which Climatronic units this applies to. Apparently 8P at least, but I doubt it's universal.

Edit/PS: Done. With a circular reference back to this thread.
