The wifi error may just be your phone complaining because the interface restarted.
Try to reconnect to it and see if the versions are updated.
That being said, it is probably best and easiest if you check for updates with VCIConfig and make sure that your interface is all up to date before trying to do the service reset.
If my VCIconfig is not up to date and I have issues with interface, should I not be able to do an auto scan?

How come after I did the auto scan and updating the ASAM, when I go to common-intrumentation-...I got a message saying “no ASAM data found locally”? And it asked me again to update ASAM?

Well, you will definitely need ASAM data for your instrument cluster in the HEX-NET in order to access Adaptation channels.

Btw, in adaptation, which IDE# (80001 to 5) should choose to turn off “inspection due”?

Check these:
IDE03349 -- FIX: Max. distance until next mileage-related inspection
IDE03350 -- FIX: Maximum time until next time-dependent inspection
IDE03351 -- FIX: Distance covered since last mileage-dependent inspection
IDE03352 -- FIX: Time since last time-dependent inspection

If "distance since" or "time since" exceeds the respective "maximum until" then that inspection is due.

Also check:
IDE00342 -- ESI: Resetting ESI

If it is set to "Warning active", change it to "Reset".

I even tried using an iPad and also using a cable attached to a Mac computer. Same thing. WiFi error during reboot.
i noticed that after the ASAM or after the firmware got updated the first LED light of the HEX-NET turned from green to red. It didn't return to green. I have to unplug and plug it back.

IDE00342 - "No warning".

IDE)3349 to 52 set to "0". "Inspection Due" cleared. Thank you.

as I have seen myself, HEX-Net activates automatically „Profile2“ when it reboots after download of data has done.
In my case I did the update with an activated „Profile3“ and when HEX-Net rebooted WiFi was missing😉

So it looks like you have to start download with an activated and working network-profile2

Do you mean the interface will always set wifi to profile 2 after an update? If you are willing to help debug this, can you post a short video showing what you mean and showing how your wifi profiles are configured?
