Accesscode for changing glowtime - where do I find it?

Hello!

I have a 2.5 AXD engine in my T5. The car is a bit hard to start in the morning. I have read that you can extend the glowplugtime. I found the steps on how to do it via this forum, and therefor borrowed VCDS from a friend. When I try to login via VCDS to get access for changing the glowtime with the 12233-code, it gets denied. Does anybody know where I can find the righet code? I have tried to search for other similar posts, but I can't find any. I use the HEX + CAN cable, and I have the newest software insalled.
I apologize for the somewhat bad English

Does anybody have any clue on where I should look for the code?

I installed new glowplugs approximatley 3 weeks ago, so they should work fine. The glowplug-light only stays on for a second before it turns off.

When the light goes out, the engine can be started (the lower the temperature, the longer it shines), and the candles are still warming up to the engine temperature (40 or 60 degrees Celsius).

I am aware of that. The only thing is that it glows for 1 sec regardless of the outside temp (have checked this between 20 and 2 degrees Celsius). Plus the van is harder to start the colder it gets.

That doesn't mean they're working, just that the light is working.

Connect one of the old (functional) glow plugs to the harness and see if it works.

Are you sure there is there an adaptation channel on your engine ECU to change the glowplug time?

Might be an idea to post a channel map from the engine ECU.

I'd be more inclined to suspect a temperature sender fault reporting an incorrect temperature than a glowplug controller ignoring the correct reading. Not altogether certain how the glowplugs are controlled, but I would presume from the coolant temperature sender in the block maybe?

It did just glow for 1 - 2 seconds.

I haven't got around to to do the ECU channel map, but I did get around to check the tempsencor with another handheld codereader. the sensor measured about the same as the outside temp, so I guess it is fine?

I will do the ECU channel map tomorrow morning!

Just tried to do as you described, but did unfortunately not manage. See pictures:

I am actually considering to wire up a glowplug relay to a switch inside the car. It's not ideal but then it will work, and I don't have to turn the key on and off 8 times when it's a bit chilly outside. I got the car cheap, so it is a sollution I can live with.
