2021 Atlas - long code & adaptation available

What coding changes are available for a 2021 vw atlas sel premium 2.0t? Currently no label file for module 1 engine and no coding and almost no adaptation changes in 2 transmission. I'm trying to default start stop to off when I start car and see if there is a way to have current gear be shown while in auto mode like manual mode.

Might want to move this over to the "Tweaks" section.

Under CAN Gateway there is this Adaptation:

IDE04159 - Deactivation of start-stop function

Maybe that will do what you want, maybe it wont, I honestly don't know.... everything you can do with VCDS is based on what the control module you are connected to allows you to do. Why are you wanting to disable it?

On recent MQB cars (and the Atlas uses MQB systems), nobody has figured out a way to do that. It seems it was previously too easy to do that, and doing so made the vehicle no longer conform with the emissions and economy specs it was certified under.

I've tried that and it does not work, they only work around that I've found completely disables it it to unplug voltage monitor on the negative battery terminal. It works but you always get an error on start stop on start.

If the stop-start is an actual switch (not a soft key on a touch screen) then there are several hardware options available (look on e.g. eBay) which will remember the current state - so if you turn SS off then it will be off next time you turn on the ignition.

This seems to be the only solution for 2020 on models where the coding/adaptation changes have been disabled by VAG.

Like Uwe, I was also skeptical about changing IDE04159 - Deactivation of start-stop function. This same channel can appear in a number of modules on MQB platform vehicles.

PS: I would caution against pulling the connector on the "voltage monitor". This is called J367 in the WD and the role of the Battery module is to provide data for the calculation of alternator charging. In addition to creating a DTC, pulling the connector disables the mechanism for optimal charging of the battery over its full life cycle. Notwithstanding that SS is a menace that should be gone - there is a long term cost using this technique. So, not a good idea IMHO!!

This has done the trick on my Kodiaq MY2020

Finally it has been disabled upon start without turning off manually. A/C has to be on, but always on for me already.
