Hi guys,
been struggling for quite some time now with my Q5 and its moody behavior in terms of error thrown. The fact is that even when the error comes up the car drives just fine, doesn't go into limp mode, the gearbox acts perfectly normal with no issues whatsoever. The error on the IC stating "Gearbox Malfunction. Please stop and put it in P" disappears within a few seconds after coming up on the IC. Sometimes the check engine comes on as well, but again it goes away after couple of cycles and no errors are stored in the ECU. The gearbox error can be deleted and until the next time it will not come up.
I am just puzzled with this error as i don't really know where to start, i initially presumed it would be the gearbox, respectively the gear lever position sensor along with the shaft 1&2 sensors, but soon i have eliminated them as being the culprit since the gearbox works perfect.
Then i went on and looked deeper into the ABS unit, but again all seems to be working just fine, all ABS sensors doing their thing well, could the ABS module be the culprit?
