2012 2.0 tdi cjaa ecu failure’s

So a manual 2012 Jetta tdi came to me not running. Accident car btw. I diagnose it. Engine harness was bad for sure, put a new one in and most of the faults were gone. I traced the rest back to the ecu. Replaced it. car ran perfect no codes I call the person to come get their car they get in and it cranks but won’t start. I put the old ecu back in and it starts so I need another ecu. But I’m thinking it’s very rare to have one bad ecu but accident car ok. But then the car was fixed running perfect and I parked it for an hour and came back to a no start.
I’m wondering if there is something car related that is damaging these ecu and if so what could it be?

I’ll post an auto scan in a couple hours. I mfeeling pretty confident that they were two unrelated failures because the ecu’s failed in two different manners and one still runs the car. But I’d really like to be sure before I go spend another 700 on an ecu an tuning just to have it fail again. And logic and process of elimination leads me to believe
That if the failures were related it seems to me the only thing that could cause it would be power supply which comes via ignition switch and relay like you mentioned. I did change out the ignition switch with no difference but I do not know which relay powers the ecu in this car and I would really like to test the wiring to and from it and the relay it self but the guys at Malone are telling me if another ecu runs the car there is nothing wrong with the power supply. Anyways auto scan soon to be added. Thanks again to everyone! you helped me get this car code free and running right once I really appreciate it and I’m sure we can do it again

Everything except this mini harness and the terminal relays because I’m not familiar with this mini harness or which relays to test I have the Bentley for cbea engine code not cjaa or any mk6 or mk7 Bentley’s I have been trying to get signed up to use ETKA and Odis but vw says because I’m in Canada for some reason my login won’t work. Needless to say I’m lacking in wiring diagrams for mk6 and mk7 tdi. Auto scan coming

So here are two auto scans. The first one is the ecu that came with the car the second is one I bought and had an immo delete and manifold intake flap delete tuned by Malone. I installed it and ran great then I parked it and it never started the car again but other one will run the car

So here are two auto scans. The first one is the ecu that came with the car the second is one I bought and had an immo delete and manifold intake flap delete tuned by Malone. I installed it and ran great then I parked it and it never started the car again but other one will run the car

This sure sounds like a possible bad G28 or a shorted part and most likely to boot something just might be to do with the tuning for FOD?

If it smells like Malone, leave it Alone?

Dont you just love the smell of FOD in the morning?

Why risk the liability?

Not for me or my tech and I’ve been on the phone with vw about this and they haven’t been able to fix it. No worries thought you wouldn’t mind sending a picture but I’ll get the diagrams I need one way or the other. Thanks anyway oh and just FYI the crank sensor only has no signal with this ecu it gets it with other ones and start immediately

What made you think that you could get a WD here?

What circuit are you missing a track on?
If you have working ECU why not compare to find condition?
What part number wire harness did you install and if different what car did it come from?

Maybe instead of talking in riddles, describe the different ECU's used and the unique failures?

You have only multiplied FOD!
