The odds favor the house. And it's tough to find a nickel slots anymore. I think quarters are pretty much the minimum. Worse yet, the machines don't even give you the satisfaction of paying out in coins anymore. You have to hit "Cash Out" and it prints a ticket, which you can then redeem for cash, or use as credit in a different machine. A few years ago, I did turn a couple of quarters into $5.25.

About 10 years ago at the Sands I noticed the same thing with the tickets.
You have to play the big $ games to win big though.
See any vapers in the pits ?
Wash well and sanitize everything !
Lots of disease with so many people around - never been sicker than on that trip.

Wish I could still play blackjack - the bosses constantly change decks and dealers on me, and that's no fun

Back in 1996, I was waiting for the vintage 19th century caged death trap that they called an elevator at a Hotel Nevada casino in Ely, Nevada. There was a penny slot machine across from the elevator, and someone had dropped two pennies on the floor. I put them into the machine, pulled the arm, and got 4 pennies back. Just then, the elevator cage door opened, so I threw two pennies back on the floor and celebrated my good fortunes by pocketing those other two shiny pennies. My streak of good luck lasted until I checked out the next morning, as the elevator didn't break down or kill me. If you like historical old buildings (or can only afford a $29/night hotel), their web site says they still have penny slots.....
