I have to agree, that was some fantastic footage. Morning golden-hour light, totally clear skies. Neat watching it pick up speed on the way down.

I wonder where the its trajectory would take it if the final (landing) burn didn't light. I'm hoping it would be the ocean, 'cause would be better than a big smoking crater in downtown Titusville.

And another just a bit ago. It was originally supposed to go a couple of days ago but was scrubbed due to bad weather (thunderstorms).

From this vantage point, these are much better at night. During bright daylight hours, there isn't anything visible here except the vapor plume...

However, the sonic boom from the first stage coming home was very noticeable here, a few moments after it landed.

Did anyone catch that the first stage speed graphic was 18,000 kph too fast during landing? I was expecting a 100 meter deep crater at LZ-1.....

No, didn't notice that until you mentioned it, but just watched the relevant section of video again and you're right, it looks like they have an 18,000 km/h (exactly) offset in the telemetry display. Better there than in the guidance software of the booster, I think. ;)

Looks like they missed the landing circle on the drone ship's deck this afternoon:

Supposedly a recycled first stage again, so even that is starting to be old news these days.

FYI, SpaceX is trying to launch two satellites within 48 hours this weekend. The second flight has a zero second launch window at Vandenberg at 8:25 PM UTC on Sunday, so there's a chance that they could have to scrub and miss the 48-hour thing.....

Hey, any landing where the rocket stays upright is a good one. :D

SpaceX's second launch in 48 hours appears to have been successful, with a good booster landing on "Just Read the Instructions" in the Pacific Ocean.....

Looks like great launch weather.

Katie - Do they still sell commemorative launch day T-shirts at KSC (which I assume was 10 times closer than where the benevolent dictator was)?????

These are ostensibly pics of Spacex's new "cabin suits".

This is starting to get boring! Another successful launch (from Vandenberg), another successful barge landing (in the Pacific Ocean) with the video cutting out at the last second.....
