Afterlife: Hi. In my perfect world, we would all use hexadecimal numbering instead of decimal - it would make life so much simpler and counting would be much easier. But alas, in the 21st century, math teachers insist that we continue to use an outdated base 10 numbering system. :banghead:

Anyhow- to your excellent question - here is a comparison of the before/after code-strings from both your car and that of "fateTH":

Now, I'm not vouching for the efficacy of this tweak, but as you can see - all the action happens at Bytes 27 and 28.

In my table, Byte 28 looks OK, but stuff seems to be a little odd at Byte 27, and in particular Bit 6 & Bit 4 (remember Bit 0 is on the extreme RHS).

So, given that Byte 27 on your car was originally hex84, or in binary speak 10000100, then you might want to try changing this to hexD4, or 11010100 (I think)

Afterlife, I assume you mean 10011000

If you look at the highlighted Bits for fateTH, you can see that both Bit 6 and Bit 4 on Byte 27 have changed. As I said, I can't vouch for the tweak, but the fact that both these Bits have been set to 1, strongly suggests that this is what should happen in your module. But hey, I'm only making a suggestion - it's your car, therefore your decision!:)

Afterlife: Well done - I always like a DTC free auto-scan (albeit they are rather boring!)

As to your question -if your code-string changes to hex03 module are successful, I believe that there are a couple of other mods needed.

First: I see from your auto-scan that you have already set Byte 4, Bit 0 (Tire Pressure Monitoring Display, Yes) in the hex17 module.

Second: What I can't see is if you have made the following changes in the hex5F module:

  • IDE04307-ENG117704-Vehicle function list BAP-tire_pressure_system_0x07 set to activated
  • IDE04307-ENG117705-Vehicle function list BAP-tire_pressure_system_0x07_msg_bus set to Suspension data bus
  • IDE04300-ENG117541-Vehicle menu operation-menu_display_rdk set to activated
  • IDE04300-ENG117543-Vehicle menu operation-menu_display_rdk_over_threshold_high set to activated

Then, assuming that you haven't retro-fitted a TPMS button on the center console, you will need to go to the TPMS facility in the MENU to register the tire pressures (i.e. to establish the initial rotating speed for the differential calculation - which is the TPMS surrogate for low pressure).

I made the two above changes and reset the tire pressure under car systems.

The other changes noted I already did.

Any idea why you use suspension data bus and not comfort bus?

What does the rdk over threshold do?
