If you don't get any responses on this forum for recoding; you could try a Google search with "Chassis Type: XX" "PPP PPP PPP" where 'XX' is the chassis type for the CC and PPP is the part number for your panel. You may hit lucky that someone on a distant forum somewhere may have posted a scan with the same set up as you.

The Passat CC and Golf 7 have completely different control modules. You will not be able to code the Golf 7 unit to your Passat. That said, your request misses the very basic information even remotely necessary to answer your question...

- Auto-Scan with the supposedly incorrect module installed
- Auto-Scan with the new module installed

...once those points are cleared up, an answer might be possible. Based on what we have for now, nobody is going to waste time with guessing games.

Regarding control module, the Golf vs CC is identical in style...

Now my replacement Golf sourced Unit is near identical, only instead of 'Rear' I have 'Setup' and instead of 'Rest' I have my heated screen button.

no it's not possible to re program with vcds, since sharan has a 3 or 5 zone climate control, REST control from front those rear zones and you will always have dtc concerning those rear zones
get a proper climatronic with heated front windshield button

This is what i have done, I have GOLF unit that I want to re-program, not the Sharan one.

In way too many cases, we have hunted ghosts with customers because somebody "thought" something was wrong/false/incorrect. In order to allow us to double check, we need said data. You want our help? That's the basic requirement to get any. FWIW, I agree with m87a and based on what I have heard from you so far - you still have an incompatible module and reprogramming isn't gonna fix it. In order to make a definite statement, let's wait for that Auto-Scan.

This has the heated screen button, which is what my panel is missing. Mine has 'Rest' instead of heated screen. Other than this in terms of dials/buttons it's the same. I've already confirmed that I could not re-program the 'Rest' button, on my current unit, to activate the heated screen.

So I had to source one with heated screen button, 99% of ones on eBay all have 'OFF'.

I'm fairly confident and as suggested by my local VW tech that it should just be a straight swap, this new unit will work just as fine as the Sharan unit fitted. But it should now activate the screen, but it would be good to get it coded and match the car.

Still missing the Auto-Scan with the new unit installed. Nice pictures, yet they tell us ZERO about the actual unit and it's compatibility. What we need are the actual part numbers etc. as shown in an Auto-Scan. According to the VIN, the unit you need is 3AA-907-044-CN-ZJU.

Don't get me wrong here, though you're asking for something where you got an answer pretty right away which was "no possible". In the process, we now have to pick your nose for each and every detail in order to help you - and in the process, you keep questioning our approach of needing said information. Put yourself in our shoes, we volunteer time to this self induced problem (incorrect module, because you are not willing to purchase the proper - new - part) while this is clearly not a normal (VCDS product) support case. Then we need to argue with you about how we'll handle this?! Honestly, I am tempted to quit this. We could have answered the question within 5 minutes if you had posted the original scan and at least the part number of the module you wish to install. Yet, here we are going back and forth - wasting everybody's time.

1) Those pictures is all I have currently, the unit with correct heated screen button is in the mail.
2) Your approach off the start and rather condescending I would say, is that I had 'supposedly' the incorrect unit fitted, yet I proved in page 1 of this now merged thread that it was incorrect unit with snippet from the scan.
3) Dana kindly confirmed I cannot re-program a single button, on current unit to change it's function, which I thanked her for on page2.
4) The correct new part from a dealer is listed as £450. Sadly I don't have that spare at the moment... and I've just sourced a Passat B7 climate unit with correct heated button for £80 as per point one.
5) This section of the forum is 'retrofit' is it not? It's supposed to support fitting parts that not originally fitted!?

Finally irrespective of what unit is fitted or will be fitted with what part numbers, is quite frankly irrelevant. I was looking to confirm if VCDS (as a product) had the ability to recode a climate module so that it matched another car, as a helpful VW tech told me if I sourced a Golf/Passat unit with right button he could do this but at a charge.

eg: Yes you can do this, go into Adaptations, and on XYZ drop down you can get a list of various configurations you can apply.

So I've now double checked eBay auction, it does not list the part number in exactly same format as you suggest above, it gives me EOS part number of:

3AA907044F

Googling this part number, it confirms this is Passat B7 climate unit... but what I'm discovering with VW (as I'm new to them) is the massive variation in climate panel setup. Some of heated screen/reset/parking heater actions. Some of OFF/Rear/Setup in central dial.

But with one I've bought I'm now confident it's the one I need as it's from a Passat B7 which is what my CC is basically underneath. Although again with variation, in the USA I've noticed a completely different set of panels being used!

Oh joy...

3AA-907-044-* has never been used in any Golf 7 (MQB-based) models, you would have spared us plenty of confusion from the beginning if you had included the part number from the beginning. Please keep that in mind for future requests, it will save all of us a lot of grief and head scratching...

3AA-907-044-* units are from the PQ36/PQ36-platform, which means they are generally compatible with your specific vehicle. According to your VIN, your car was build 12/Jun/2013. According to the parts catalog, 3AA-907-044-F-ZJU was installed from Nov/2011 to May/2012. Down the line, the superseding part was 3AA-907-044-BE-ZJU. These were used through Nov/2013 - and likely the part which your car came with originally.

The order of supersession is 3AA-907-044-F-ZJU > 3AA-907-044-AK-ZJU > 3AA-907-044-BE-ZJU > 3AA-907-044-BT-ZJU > 3AA-907-044-CN-ZJU. From our experience, installing parts which are older than the vehicle itself may work, though may also not provide full functionality. Newer modules are backwards compatible, though obviously older modules are not necessarily forward compatible.

So what does this mean for you? Install 3AA-907-044-F-ZJU, code it properly and see what codes etc. it leaves you with. Once it's installed, feel free to post a new scan - if you need any help with the specific coding (though VCDS should provide you with enough coding information to deal with this) or happen to have any issues from there on.

BTW: Per the factory references and parts catalog, the EOS was never available with Front Window Heating. Specifically the catalog confirms, 3AA-907-044-F-ZJU (or any superseding part) has never been used in an EOS.
