Nah.......... much easier to just give the oil/filter cartridge a hex address (like a control module) and then simply include the address into an expanded Component Protection constellation (which we all know is only there for the good of the community)! VW could claim that this is necessary because it's the only way to ensure that oil/filer cartridges are responsibly re-cycled - result an instant fix for the need to see a dealer for servicing!

Do Castrol now think the same as your average Joe Blow???

A "service" on a car is just an engine oil and filter change, and everything else lasts forever???

Can an F1 team swap engine/transaxles in less time than it takes for a Jiffy Lube place to over-fill your crankcase and put windshield washer fluid into your slushbox? In for a penny.....

John Deere has just one-upped Castrol, cutting their oil change times down to 30 seconds.....

John Deere's 30-Second Oil Change Turns This Task Into a One-Handed, Half-a-Minute Job

Changing the oil in a riding mower can be a messy and time-consuming task. That leads to procrastination, and procrastination ultimately lowers the lifespan of the engine. John Deere wants to solve this pain point of lawnmower ownership with the Easy Change 30-Second Oil Change System.

This system makes it possible for owners to change the oil by simply twisting off the current filter cartridge and twisting on a new filter cartridge that contains both the oil and filter—no need to drain the old oil. The remaining oil in the engine is refreshed by the charge of new oil (0.8 qt.) included in the replacement Easy Change system. Combine that with 40 percent more engine oil capacity, better filtration, and cooler running temperatures, and it is no longer necessary to remove and dispose of all the oil in your engine when you service it.

The Easy Change system is currently available on the following 2018 models of 100 Series lawn tractors: E120, E130, E150, E160, E170 and E180. John Deere's recommended oil service for 100 Series Riding Lawn Tractors, is to change the System every 50 hours or once a season, whichever comes first.
