Changing the oil in a riding mower can be a messy and time-consuming task. That leads to procrastination, and procrastination ultimately lowers the lifespan of the engine. John Deere wants to solve this pain point of lawnmower ownership with the Easy Change 30-Second Oil Change System.
This system makes it possible for owners to change the oil by simply twisting off the current filter cartridge and twisting on a new filter cartridge that contains both the oil and filter—no need to drain the old oil. The remaining oil in the engine is refreshed by the charge of new oil (0.8 qt.) included in the replacement Easy Change system. Combine that with 40 percent more engine oil capacity, better filtration, and cooler running temperatures, and it is no longer necessary to remove and dispose of all the oil in your engine when you service it.
The Easy Change system is currently available on the following 2018 models of 100 Series lawn tractors: E120, E130, E150, E160, E170 and E180. John Deere's recommended oil service for 100 Series Riding Lawn Tractors, is to change the System every 50 hours or once a season, whichever comes first.
