The best way to post pictures is to upload them to some photo-hosting site. If you don't use a photo-hosting site, try imgur.com, you don't need to create an account there, you can just drag & drop pictures to it, and they have apps to upload pictures straight from your phone as well.

Once you've uploaded a picture, you'll have a URL for it. Put that URL in between IMG tags in your post, like this:

[img]https://i.imgur.com/ovthCi3.gif[/img]

Or like this:

ovthCi3.gif

That will give you a nice photo in your post, kinda like this:

Uwe, what about adding "How to Post AutoScans" to the title and thread so you won't have to keep doing the Code wrap thing for most of us?

Uwe, I just went there and the first required step was to create a free account. You may want to clarify that you don't have to pay to create an account.

You didn't get the Upload Images at the top right ?
I have only used imgur a couple times but it let me upload by clicking on the Computer button without an account.

Yup I just went with a browser that I normally never use (and which isn't logged into any account there) and uploaded an image without any account. Apparently Romad is doing something different than the rest of us. ;)

Ah, I finally figured it out. Imgur.com still relies on old-fashioned Flash instead of using modern HTML 5 replacements. Due to the security holes in Flash, I've disabled it. OK, I guess I'll have to look elsewhere for a place that doesn't require the use of Flash. Maybe when Apple updates iCloud later this year I might be able to use my free space there. I'll have to go back and see exactly what was said at WWDC about the iCloud changes.

Flash and Java - two things I have blocked everywhere.
Should have mentioned that, but forgot.

I have a Pro account with Photobucket due to the number of views some pictures used to get in other forums.

I fixed it for you.

You had: [IMG]http://imgur.com/BR4cIka[/IMG]

What you needed was: [IMG]http://imgur.com/BR4cIka.jpg[/IMG]

IMG tags only work on an actual image file, which typically end in either .jpg or .png

Thanks Uwe,

I knew that there is a more difficult way to upload pictures. I will try it next time.:)

it won't even stay in the above and its done through imgur

http://imgur.com/a/N3WAT

You're trying to embed an album. imgur.com/a/* is an album. To get the url of just the image in question, right-click on it and use the menu option 'Copy Image Location' (Firefox), 'Copy image address' (Chrome), or 'Copy shortcut' (IE).

The actual image URL is:
http://i.imgur.com/Kae5rTF.jpg

And the correct syntax to embed it in the forum is:

[img]http://i.imgur.com/Kae5rTF.jpg[/img]

That will give you:

Kae5rTF.jpg

Well, uhm...

imgur.com/SuhPx is a page with this pic on it:

SuhPx.jpg

That's certainly a nice pic. But I don't think it's an Audi. ;)
