MY2017 VW Tiguan, coding rejected, error 00

Hi.

I have MY2017 VW Tiguan 2.0TDI. When i try to change coding in some modules (i.e. 17, A5), i'm getting error message "Coding rejected. Error 00: Unknown (0x00)". I'm using latest VCDS and HEX-USB+CAN cable.
Is that a problem with my car or VCDS?

I can't believe it was that easy. Just checked it again with engine off and it worked straight away. It was never a problem with my older cars, so i didn't even though about it. Thanks golfi_vend.

Suggestion for RT team: The Polish cable shows following fault for this error: "Error 83 Engine Is running", while VCDS shows "General error 00"

Hi guys,

Even though that's probably the end result of implausible data on the PT databus .. we'd like to know why VCDS shows Error 00: Unknown. If you can duplicate this (even if you have to try coding something with the engine running) please send debugs over for review.

Change the Debug level from 0 -to- 1024
[Apply]
Duplicate the error 00 while attempting to code something
Promptly exit VCDS and send all of the files with .DLM extensions from this folder:
C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Debug

Glad to hear another MK2 Tiguan owner on here, patiently waiting for the SA for module 09 so I can change many things. Auto rain closing, comfort turns etc Already coded RSA.

This happened to me also today. I was hassling around with [A5] HBA -> DLA codings (I know it does not work with static LED-headlamps), but when i tried to revert coding back to original, this same error message appeared. Restarting VCDS did not help, but when i rebooted car, and coded unit, it worked like a charm. So there might be some gateway related things.

VCDS wrote every single try to coding debug log, but it did not make any difference to the accepted one...

I'll try this tomorrow again if i'm able to duplicate this 0x00 error.

welshkailboy: Whilst I have the greatest respect for awesome knowledge that permeates nearly all the responses on this forum, I'm not sure that it's wise to expect too much in the way of SA disclosure from our colleagues here (or elsewhere)

I would be delighted to be proven wrong, but new SA discovery seems to be as rare as rocking horse sh%t - on this and on other forums. Some of us (less knowledgeable) folk have had a modicum of success in the past force polling control modules with every combination of numbers (SA s are 5 digit, therefore 99,999 possible combinations), which takes upward of 12 hours to complete, but RT has advised that this method is not possible on newer control modules (VW appear to have closed the loop-hole).

This means, I guess that the only way to find these new SA s is by industrial espionage, pure happenstance, or more likely - through divine revelation (not that I have ever found prayers to any deity to be of much help alas)

Again, more than happy to be wrong - and if anyone does have a direct line to the big-"G", the SA for the instrument control module @ address hex17 for post MY16 Golf mk7 (or, the numbers for the 2nd prize on Lotto - 1st prize money is too much) would be nice as well!!

For others: It needed some work, but i managed to duplicate that error. Needed to shut down the car and then try coding again.

Some of us (less knowledgeable) folk have had a modicum of success in the past force polling control modules with every combination of numbers (SA s are 5 digit, therefore 99,999 possible combinations), which takes upward of 12 hours to complete, but RT has advised that this method is not possible on newer control modules (VW appear to have closed the loop-hole).

This means, I guess that the only way to find these new SA s is by industrial espionage, pure happenstance, or more likely - through divine revelation (not that I have ever found prayers to any deity to be of much help alas)

Again, more than happy to be wrong - and if anyone does have a direct line to the big-"G", the SA for the instrument control module @ address hex17 for post MY16 Golf mk7 (or, the numbers for the 2nd prize on Lotto - 1st prize money is too much) would be nice as well!!

That is interesting as I didn't realise that the SA's were actually integrated in that way. I guess good things come to those who wait.

As for the Lotto numbers can't help there as I need the Uk ones.

We haven't reported back for a while and I wanted to mention Eric has been pumping out Beta versions for testing related to another thread:

He is continuing to tweak things locally related to Error 00 when coding so I would not expect any of those EXEs to fix things at this exact time. You guys can either refresh that battery thread looking for the latest Beta versions to try or bump this back up in a few days if anyone wants to try a newer version.
