Initial query
Cold Start Idle Air Control System Malfunction?
Hey guys, I need your help figuring out exactly what this fault from the VagCom error log is referring to:

1 Fault Found:
001290 - Cold Start Idle Air Control System
P050A - 002 - Malfunction

The car shakes when cold starting and I have figured out (by process of elimination) that its not carbon cleaning or injectors. It behaves like a vacuum leak for the first 30sec that the car is on (if you pull out the oil dipstick while the car is on it will shake and hesitate like my car does when it turns on). The mechanic is not able to diagnose, so what do you guys think this error refers to?

thanks

My response
A complete Auto-Scan would be more helpful, along with the year and model of the vehicle.

Funny reply from someone else
My guess is that it is one of the following:
1988 to 2015 Volkswagon, Audi, Seat or Skoda.
I really cannot work out which model though!

My reply
This is a strong possibility, but I'm leaning to the Audi side

If I were a betting man I'd wager there are several other faults too...

My advice - stay indoors tomorrow - they'll all be out....
