Hey everyone, I really need some help figuring this one out!
So I finally got all the parts necessary and made some time for retrofittig the soundaktor into my Golf Alltrack. I spent last weekend tearing the car apart and installing everything in, I took pictures along the way and would really like to post a detailed DIY guide, but ran into a very unexpected big problem..
After enabling A9 - Struct. Borne Sound under 19-CAN Installation List in , if I connect the soundaktor control module (J869) to power (via the fuse box), the fuel pump starts to recirculate gas through the hoses, in and out of the filter. This happens continuously, even with the car completely off and locked. The only way to stop it is to pull the fuse for the soundaktor module out. Reinserting the fuse immediately restarts the pump.
Other adaptations/settings in related to the mod:
ENG137058-SFT00169-GW_Enable_CAN_Timeout_DTC-Actuator For Structure-borne Sound - Enabled (this was actually already enabled from the factory)
IDE01996-SFT00169-Installation list: specified installations-Actuator For Structure-borne Sound - Coded (Stock was set to Not coded)
There were no other settings I could find related to the soundaktor (other than the volume, which was set to 100%, I didn't have to change it).
Installation was as follows..
J869 - Soundaktor Control Module:
Pin 1 (Black) --------------------> connected to Pin 1 on Sound Actuator (R214)
Pin 2 (Gray) ---------------------> connected to Pin 2 on Sound Actuator (R214)
Pin 3 (Black/Yellow) ------------> connected to fuse SC34 (15 amp)
Pin 4 (Brown) -------------------> connected to ground terminal on firewall near battery in engine bay
Pin 5 (Orange/Brown) ----------> connected to CAN Low at TIUL coupling joint (T17e brown connector Pin 2) on the bottom left station behind kick panel with hood release handle (LHD)
Pin 6 (Orange/Black) -----------> connected to CAN High at TIUL coupling joint (T17e brown connector Pin 1); same location as CAN Low above
Pin 1 on the T17e connector (brown) connects to Pin 16 on the gateway (J533) for CAN High; Pin 2 connects to Pin 6 on the gateway for CAN Low.
