U.S. Car
I got these codes from a scan I did with VAG-COM. Because the CEL was on, I took it to the dealer. They replaced a glow plug relay and the front oxygen sensor (sensor packed with soot.) This took care of the NOX Catalyst error. However, to solve all the cylinder errors the dealership wanted to drain all the fuel, flush all the tanks and lines, replace the fuel filter, and reset the adaptives. (I also do not know what it means to "reset the adaptives.") That was going to be another $500 - $600 so for now I said, "No." Do you all think this is necessary? The dealer suspects bad fuel. I guarantee we didn't put gasoline in the car. The dealer said it smelled like diesel...well I would hope so. Anyway, do you have any suggestions? It's awful strange that all four cylinders would give the same error at the same mileage, so I can see why they would suspect the fuel but I am wondering if it might be something else. For now we have added three gallons of premium diesel to the 1/4 tank that we had. We plan to run that down, then fill it up. We are covered under the extended warranty for the high pressure fuel pump, if that's what it is, unless VW check the fuel and finds it is bad. Well, you all probably know the routine. Here is my scan before any work was done. I have not done a new scan because I want to wait until we run some of this new fuel thru the engine.
