Hi,

just bought a new Audi S3 and noticed some modules not found and the Central Electronics Module shows coding of all zero's.

I don't see any modules VCDS didn't find.

I do see a couple of modules for which VCDS didn't find any data. That's not a huge surprise in a brand-new 2017 model car.

We might be asking you for a debug file to see what's up with the 09 Coding (i.e. why it shows all zeros). What happens if you go to the coding screen in 09? Is it all zeros there too? Note: I suggest not messing with that coding at the moment.

Yea, sorry mistake in wording, I meant ASAM data not found, which as you say is not surprising.

When I go onto the coding screen it is all 0's as well, if you need any further info, no problem.

Yeah, can you make us a debug 1024 of accessing 09 please? Options->Debug Level: 1024, Save, connect to and quit 09, close VCDS, send DEBUG-09.DLM in the Debugs folder to support@ross-tech.com . Thank you!

Got it. It just wanted to make sure this wasn't an uninitialized buffer somewhere in VCDS, but as it turns out, your 09 is truly sending zeroes for its coding.

Case of "byte 18", where coding is hidden?

Or maybe the coding is carried out via parameterisation? - Like with new camera module 7N0 907 441 B, it seems it is not possible to code module. Rather only upload data via "other methods".

I'm not sure we can do anything except guess, at least until we get our hands on a car with a module that behaves like this.

I just wanted to mention we saw our first dealer level ODIS scan from a NAR market 2017 TT with all zeros in the BCM but it isn't a car we have on-site. So, at this point I think the Parameterization theory is correct - but don't hold me to that ;-) Time will tell if local VW/Audi models have this issue.

It means you have to look in the Adaptation channels rather than Coding for whatever thing(s) you might wish to to adjust.
