Battery Coding Required?

I replaced the battery in my 2011 Mk6 GTI with an OEM VW battery about 2 years ago (March 2014).

I did not "code the battery" -- I did not purchase VCDS until this month (April 2016).

I have seen no ill affects without having coded the battery, but I would like to know if I should do this now. Please advise. Thanks!

Nope. Not on an Mk.6 VW.
