Golf MK5 GTD BMN problem?

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone can offer some assistance here. I have had this GTd golf now for 2 years and it seems cursed with electrical issues.
Everything from injector failure to interior lighting. I have ironed out much of it but yesterday the car stopped and wont turn on.

Last thing fixed on the car was the G28 sensor ( replaced 2 months ago. ). this seems to be persistent error together with fuel pump relay error.
Now I have below errors and as car is a non mover. Any help would be appreciated as this car has now cost me a small fortune.

I'd check harness. Some models had issue with G28 harness that got rubber against gearbox and chewed out the wiring.

Where did you get the G28 sensor from? If it is a Chinese Replacement Auto Part then one should expect problems.

VW replacement sensor ( Made in Turkey) .

I don't think its the sensor the car dove fine for weeks , but I did have the J17 error ( priority5) on fuel pump and the car still drove fine till now.

Harness, not sure what you referring. The wiring plug is not affected.
I think the ECU is getting confused as this G28 sensor is multi segment responsible in BMN 125kw engine on GTD golf.

Some battery suggestions below , what should be the high cranking battery for GTd 125kw golf?

How good/old is your battery? The 128 rpm while cranking is not good enough to me.

Yep, 280rpm minimum before the injectors will fire.

Have the battery tested.

Also check the wiring for G28 as well. There's a connector down on the inside of the left chassis rail that can often have a broken wire or two at it. Usually for G28, or the coolant temp sensor.

Below is my Central Electronics Control Module board, what relays should I be looking at for Fuel Pump Relay (J17) faulty.
Just confirming , in case I pulled the wrong 460 one out ? And also which of these should i bee looking at for the interior lighting ?

What way did you test the wiring?
Silly question, but does the vehicle have all the basics to enable a start??

Hey , yes the car has all the basics, it starts (turns over) and then it cuts out 4 sec later , shut down.
I have tested the wires with multi-meter and continuities are there, replaced all the relays. I have replaced G28 Speed sensor before hand and the car drove fine till it died on me.
One continuous error was allays there that I couldn't clear : 01259 - Fuel Pump Relay (J17) 009 - Open or Short to Ground.
Eventually the G28 speed sensor month after reappeared: after the new sensor installed.

Fault Priority: 5

I'm now just guessing that this Sensor plays some sort of protocol part in sending info to ECU that tells injectors at what time to open and close.
It basically shuts them down 4 sec after car turns on. Therefore I guess the only thing that Fuel Pump Relay (J17) controls the the pump in the back and tandem one on the engine.
Would i be correct to say my problem here is just the Sensor G28?!

If g28 is faulty then it will just not start? Does it always fire up and then stop after a few seconds? Have you verified fuel pressure? What about the tandem pump?

Be careful when condemning a g28 as this fault will always appear after extended cranking due to the ecu not recognising the start procedure. If you constantly crank the engine the implausible signal fault will get logged.

Update,
I now have successfully started the car and drove for hours. I stumbled across a smell. EGR smell!
Basically I discovered that fumes from EGR valve have been blocking the startup. After blanking EGR valve with a home made plate the G28 Sensor code dissipated, gone.
Car runs fine, if not better. More responsive than ever. G28 code is logged as you said after bad cranking attempts.

Still keep getting : Fuel Pump Relay (J17) is still there and can not be erased Priority 5. but at least the car runs fine, with more power

My question is, why would the EGR not be read(Picked up) by VCDS and not offer the trouble codes.
Even now that the engine reticulation is blocked, why isn't it spitting out error? Should it not come up on dash?

I will be researching this further. Driving with EGR blocked. Any suggestions? Links?
