Hi bit of a silly question but how can I reset the service light with VCD Lite.
I have seen links for 1999-2000 but not for my model.
I own 2003-2004 Mk4 Golf 180psi and I have just done a full service and used longlife oil.

A simple reset should just be:
[Select]
[17-Instruments]
[Adaptation]
Channel 02 -> Make it 0.

Thanks for the Very quick reply. But will that set the longlife oil too?

It won't change whatever the cluster is currently set to. That's why it's a "simple reset".

If you want more info than that, please post an Auto-Scan so we can see what cluster you have.

OK, your cluster appears to be coded for Flexible (Long Life) service intervals.

If you have more questions, please look at Adaptation Channels 40 - 44 and tell us the Stored Value in each one.

ok i looked at channels 40-44. channel 40 set to 0, 41 set to 0, 42 set to 15, 43 set to 15, 44 set to 365

so 42+43 set to 30, 44 set to 730?

I'll take that as a yes.
I also notice a pop up, saying I need to do edit the channels in a order?

Pardon me for taking some time away from my computer on a Sunday. ;)

40 is Distance since Service (in hundreds of km)
41 is Time since Service (in days)
42 is Minimum Distance to Service (in thousands of km)
43 is Maximum Distance to Service (in thousands of km)
44 is Maximum Time to Service (in days)

For Flexible intervals on a Petrol engine, standard values would be:
42 = 15
43 = 30
44 = 730
