I would presume it's a common rail engine? To me the fault code is very similar to ones needing a new actuator (electronic version) and the other code is possibly the smaller fan being faulty, but do check your fuses as I know there has been a few where it has blown/ been pulled by someone else.

I agree, the small fan fails with more regularity but checking the wiring and power would be best.

Using the software I monitored the blocks 011, 012, 034. I'm having a hard time figuring out if this is good or bad. I should order a copy of the repair manual.
Also what should normal vacuum at idle be ? and which block is it contained in ? I could not find a descriptions which says "vacuum" in any of the blocks

merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone. a diesel engine wont produce vacuum and that's why it has a vacuum pump. the vacuum pump should produce about 18-22 in.

VW Community, I appreciate some of us are living with the old Imperial (British) units of measurement, so I'm going to assume its inches of Mercury. To the nice folks at Ross-Tech if the car has a sensor which measures the actual produced vacuum Level, does your software measure this important variable ? if so please advise which measuring block in your software can tell me this ? or do I need to connect an actual vacuum gauge to measure it. PS 18-22 Inches of Mercury is =to 609- 745 Millibars.

The software doesn't measure anything. It can only show you diagnostic data that the ECU is willing to report.

As bar&kevs already stated, diesel engines don't produce vacuum (i.e. pressure less than ambient in the intake manifold). They may have a vacuum pump to produce vacuum needed to operate things that are traditionally actuated by vacuum such as a brake booster, but there's not much reason for the ECU to monitor this.

I measured the vacuum coming of the Vacuum pump, got 22" Mercury. Measured vacuum coming off the N75 valve without it connected to the "VNT Actuator" got same 22", however with gauge in parallel with Actuator connected got just 10". After a minute or two, I heard a click and the Vacuum went to zero, (I suspect seeing as the car did not see correct behavior N75 closed) Turned engine off, connected hose directly to Actuator, sucking on this tube, I could not create any vacuum. I'm concluding the actuator diaphragm must have a leak. I will replace and see if that is the issue. Any comments appreciated.

i was going to say that 9 times out of 10 the P00AF code is a bad VNT actuator. Low mileage for that to fail, but not unheard of. Mine failed at 360,000 miles. Replaced it just the the video suggests. What sucked was driving for a week at 50% engine power because when the actuator goes the ECU puts it in some sort of "protect" mode. That and the fact the turbo isn't producing boost....fun times.
