    MB different from BS

    I read on the VCDS demo that the info displayed in the Basic settings screen matches data in measuring blocks.

    seems like this is not quite 100% accurate, (or I made an error someplace)

    units for the MB 78, 1-4: RPM, (no units), Pressure, Lambda
    units for the BS 78, 1-4: mbar, [blank], mbar, C

    here are a couple segments of my logs:

    Is there some place the various measuring blocks are spelled out, or is it all hidden on the VW corporate network someplace?

    a little birdie told me that the basic settings 78 reveal the LP EGR filter health, and that the difference between field 1 and 3 when basic settings on/off/next selected should be under 100

    I wanted to run a log of the egr filter pressure on a drive but now am confused. (there seems to be a lot of that going around)

    Sounds like the manual needs updating. It does indeed state that,
    Basic Settings Mode is very similar to Measuring Blocks, and the contents of each display group is the same.
    I think that was true when the manual was originally written way back when, but it isn't necessarily true today. The data shown in some groups of Basic Settings in some modules is indeed quite different than the data shown in the corresponding Measuring Block Group. Please understand, it's the module that's in control of the data (and units) that are displayed in each group, not VCDS.

    Scratching my head, what basic setting are you running in Block 078?

    MVB 078/1 = Engine RPM
    MVB 078/2 = Mass Air Flow Sensor (actual)
    MVB 078/3 = Differential Pressure Sensor (G450)
    MVB 078/4 = Exhaust Flap (actual)

    Do you maybe have the same measurement values from MWB 067 to 076 ?
    Please make 2 controller maps, 1 with Ignition ON and 1 in idle.

    Important Basic settings are in 067 068 and 078
    It is my understanding that you can only test the EGR filter pressure, by doing the Basic setting 078.
    Temperature reading below 200C !

    don't suppose you have a full list of the MVB nomenclature, do you?

    perhaps one that reports the Low Pressure Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Pressure

    thought the temp for the basic settings 78 difference was for temp above 200C. have to read it again.

    I must not quite understand. how would I get the controller map?

    I logged some MVB for 67 and 76, and there is no values for my car for 76

    that MVB 78/4 is listed as lambda in %. and it seems to dance around more that I would think a motor driven flap would.

    I logged these looking for more validation of my guess that the MVB 104/1 value of 0xFF10 is associated with an NOX regen.

    You can open them in Notepad and wrap them in [Code] like the text logs above. Jef's R32 post here may be helpful for example.
