Wow that phone camera is good! There were 6 there if memory serves...
I see 5 in the photo... I think there is one more out of the frame.

I just spotted this fella in my peripheral vision, walking along the creek outside my office window:

One less deer wandering around Ross Mountain:

Bruce and I hunted this morning and saw some deer but didn't harvest any. So, the three of us were relaxing inside the camp and, with my birks on I looked out the window. Suddenly I yelled "Hey! There's some deer!" when I saw two does cross below his porch. Uwe suggested grabbing the nearby muzzleloader so I went out to his porch railing and lined up on them:

From about 100yd away, I watched them disappear behind some trees then one came into view and I squeezed off a shot. I thought I had missed because I didn't see either of them do much once the smoke cleared. I put on boots, went down the hill to about where I reckoned they had been and there was a nice doe, lying as you see her. The .50 cal muzzleloader bullet appears to have broken ribs going in, pretty much destroyed the heart, broke ribs going out, but not exited. I think it's lodged against the backside skin. We'll see when we skin it later. For now it's hanging up next to a Tiguan.

Neat, I recovered the bullet. It was inside the far end of the hide:

Wow! We should weigh it to see how much of the original 295 grains is left.

Uhm.. If a Falcon 9 booster looks that crumpled after landing, I don't think SpaceX would try to re-use it.
    Ceterum censeo, delenda est Daesh.

I’m guesstimating it lost half the weight. So it weighs about what a virgin .30-06 bullet weighs.

So, technically you could melt it down and use it as a .30-06, and then recycle it a third time as .22LR.....
