just replaced thermostat because of same code last week freeze frame said when the code set it dropped to 74(c) after repair set the readiness no problems week later came back same code this time 77(c) i purchased the thermostat from the dealer and used all new dealer coolant mixed 50/50 has anyone ran into this before. I didnt have an open bay i just pulled the code quick and checked freeze frame so i dont have an autoscan to give. Any insight would help :banghead:

Air bound system due to inadequate bleeding or T -stat installed with bleeder incorrect ref location.
Expansion tank cap o-ring not sealed or tank or system not sealed.

bleeder at the top and i have good heat i bleed at the bleed screw front center and at hose with the pin hole in it at the heater core. ive had to do this to these engines a few times so im pretty confident its not air in the system but tomorrow when the car comes back i will pressure test the system.

Well inspect the cap itself for a twisted/missing o-ring because often I get the call and they PSI tested....... and then install the same shitty cap after they're done.........causing said problem again.

will do im just gonna put a new cap and both temp sensors before i condemn the new tstat

Anything is possible Steve since the parts are made of straw and human feces no matter which way you turn.

Personally I like Wahler or Baer T-Stats......
