Ok so now I'm just disconnect the negative terminal every time I sit for awhile so I have a charged battery. So what I did was I open trunk and drivers door then latched them so it appeared the car was all closed up. I set my alarm and waited a while then ran a scan of the car. These are the modules the car communicates with when it is supposed to be sleeping. Any ideas? Thanks

You're gonna have a bad time with that method of testing...........Especially in time forward for 0x02 ..........09E
Maybe not dead battery but that's about it.

Me disconnecting of the battery is not my way of testing its just so I can get to work without a dead battery. What do you mean time forward for 0x02.....09E??

0x02 09E = Transmission series Automatic

Each time you disconnect the battery, you are disrupting basic settings in controllers for learned values.
Ultimately this will destroy the transmission.

Don't say I didn't warn you.........

Oh crap!!! Really that extreme??? Omg I just wish I could find the reason or reasons why I'm getting the battery drain. I know the navigation DVD player stats awake but dobt it would drain it that much. I wish somebody like you lived by me. ok starting today I'm going to push forward fast and aggressively to find the problem.
If this was your car in dummy terms what would you do first? I will follow through ever step.

The first thing I would do is deselect the devices not working right on gateway by recoding and removing those fuses for those devices.

Then I would go searching to see if these devices bypassed/stopped the draw......

It's real easy to find draws.

The first thing to do is check zones for the alarm.

Open and close every door, trunk, and hood verifying the module sees the conditions, in VCDS blocks.

Take DVOM and watch static voltages in 15 minute time stamps, with stop watch to establish draw and battery health.

Then start pulling fuses to see what raises static voltage and keep a log of that track.

Many will not agree with this reverse procedure, however, I swear by it.
I want to see the BDM and sleep modules working.

Fake out the zones and lock the latches to conduct tests after verifying they work in blocks.
This way you have limited entry to the car while watching the armed system or could cover up interior motion if supported.

Also when I deselect modules in 19 can gateway should I do one at a time? Or all at the same time? Thanks.
Ok I got everything except alarm blocks in VCDS? I would assume measuring blocks?? Thanks

I would also assume only deselect the obvious?? Like radio,Nav,roof electronics? Don't do the battery regulator, immobilizer? Correct?

Correct.......

Than take out fuses of devices which are deactivated.

I prefer to start with obvious modules containing DTC or COM issues.

Not IMMO or BDM

Ok so when I do this should I have a battery charger hooked up? I ask because the inside of the car will be on to run VCDS. Also what measuring blocks do I check the alarm in

Ok this car is messing with me!!! So I have my battery reading 12.40V has been sitting here for an hour and hasn't dropped at all!!! This is not right I should be happy so far but not without and answer. I also notice the DVD Nav system is turning off as well when it didn't before. The only thing I can think of is maybe my driver door window?? Because today I was having trouble where it didn't want to close or open. Maybe it finally died and now it doesn't loose charge?? So confusing.
I'll check a scan and post it

Verify each zone in adv measuring blocks.

Battery should be charged and statics verified to know the battery baseline.

No battery charger should be needed when looking for voltage increase for live parasite, while alarm is armed or systems functional.

On another note:
I have moved my testing to be inverse......... for how draw is usually measured due to knew BDM behaviors.
I do use a steady rated battery charger, I can push adjustable amperage in measured while isolating the components watching voltage.

So far I have found every single new parasite in late Audi BDM, by performing this passive method.

I also install inline amperage meters on both sides for ground and positive to observe the behavior of controllers.
You can watch how the BDM powers down....... and on what side of +/-

Usually parasites are very low draws below 2-5 amps so a standard DVOM should be fine at 10 AMP setting when watching sleep periods.

Other handy cool ghetto tricks........for visual effects.

Tape fuses off to show just the fuse tops with moister sealant tape.
Take freeze spray and cool fuse tops in fuse-box.
Hook battery up, arm, alarm and watch the fuse that melts the ice coat first or note them.
You could also measure them with laser temp gun........

You could also take out all fuses labeling or taking pictures to recall locations.
Then install very low half amp fuses and arm up.
The one that pops research it.

We did it!!!!! We fixed the battery drain!!! Your the man. So it was the trunk latch that was stopping the loop to sleep. The inside trunk latch wasn't pulling all the way down. as soon as I locked the trunk while open to confuse the car there wasn't any drop at all and all light and everything went out. We so did it thank you so much!!
I'm going to run another autoscan and move onto the next.

...Actually there is a recall about trunk replacement back in 2008 in CA (I can't recall which TSB is, since we fixed all our customer trunks issues back in time 2007-2009). as I mentioned in my first post.... Maybe this is a free Trunk replacement for you. why dont you ask your local dealers about it. since this is a super ultra recurrent issue in this model along with everything else in your car. they might have this recall still open for everyone. Are you the first owner of the car?

a question for you

@ Mr -Uwe- & Jack@European_Parts.

Hi, Using VCDS only:
is there any field or measuring blocks fields within this Module (46: Central Conv) something like a binary data or something that can tell the technician whether the latch or hinge or any hall effect device if any or switches of any kind, the state of being? how can I take the most of VCDS in this case.
