Audi S5 2008 passenger and driver blower

Hi guys
I am trying to adjust the blower fan on passengers side and the drivers side get affected to. Looks like they lock together and the "fan" button lights up on passenger and driver and they both increase or decrease the same time. Although on the MMI I only see the passenger or the driver's side depending which one I will increase or decrease.
Is that how it supposed to work? I thought they were independent?
