A mezzanine floor overlooking the main lobby of the Indonesian Stock Exchange building collapsed on Monday, injuring scores of people, many of them students, under slabs of concrete and other debris.

The high-rise building, constructed in the late 1990s, is part of a two-tower complex in the heart of the financial district and houses dozens of other offices including the World Bank. It was the target of a car bombing by Islamist militants in September 2000.

Police ruled out a bomb as a cause of Monday’s collapse. They said more than 70 people had been injured, but no deaths had been reported. (Reuters)

In our local news today...lol, man uses loader to dismantle ex girlfriends house, then drives loader to the liquor store with the police in pursuit.
Not an outrageously funny story by any means, but if you were familiar with the area this happened, it's like..."Oh, it's Tuesday"...LOL.

Rembrandt: The real problem is that Canada allowed someone to name the town "Sydney" . We made the same mistake down here and it's now the place where all the "interesting" people live (Melbourne/Sydney rivalry is a national sport here in Australia)!! :D

What is even worse is, Sydney Nova Scotia has a small airport, and from time to time, somebody flies there by mistake thinking they are on their way to Australia...lol.

As for the name, we can thank the British. Most of the cities and towns in the eastern half of Canada were named after someone or something in the UK. From Wikipedia:)

Just when you think that you've seen everything...

Jack was outside a few minutes ago, plowing the latest 15cm dumping of the white crap out of our driveway. (Thanks, Jack!) I went outside to say hi when he was finishing up. As we were talking, a police car came down the street with a headlight out. Not being content to let the opportunity pass, he flagged down the cop and issued him a verbal warning for his equipment violation!!!!!
