Greetings, I just joined and this is my first post.
I bought my first Audi a few months ago. It is a 2006 A6 Avant (C6 platform). I've purchased a VCDS License and Interface and am still figuring out how to use it. I'll paste in an Auto-Scan at the bottom is this message.
This is my problem.
I updated the software for the MMI system to version 4610. I followed TSB 2019334/2. I was able to restore "seat position memory via key" (07- Display> Adaptation Channel 1> old value was 5402, added up all options and got value of 5434, used that value and it worked). I restored the Instrument Cluster menu item in CAR Menu (TSB 2020250). And I restored Battery charge status in the CAR Menu via the MMI Hidden Menu.
I later realized that the climate control via MMI was not working. It used to be that if you touched a button on the climate control unit like fan, the display showed a big dial and the MMI knob could be used to make adjustments. I found that safer while driving than using the climate control unit. TSB 2017424/3 seems to cover that problem but the solution described is to "perform guided fault finding / guided function" and run "J523 Front Info Display Ctrl. Head, adaptation (RG.91)." I could not figure out how to do that in VCDS. Is that something that one can do in VCDS??
I went hunting in the MMI hidden menu and under Diag Settings > APK 0x01, 0x0B, 0x0C I found an unchecked item called "Air Condition." I checked that item. Now when you push a button on the climate control unit, a visual image appears on the Display but you still can only make changes on the climate control unit. I don’t think the display is the same as it was with MMI control.
I next checked 07-Display > Adaptation Channel 11 and noted that the current value is 52. From the list of values in the VCDS pop-up window it appears that "32 Climate Control Comfort installed" is selected (I'm guessing that, if one can only get to 52 by including a 32, then it is selected).
Anyone have any suggestions?
